Historia
The science of emotion is in the midst of a revolution on par with the discovery of relativity in physics and natural selection in biology. Leading the charge is psychologist and neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett, whose research overturns the long-standing belief that emotions are automatic, universal, and hardwired in different brain regions. Instead, Barrett shows, we construct each instance of emotion through a unique interplay of brain, body, and culture.

Historia
Every day, we make decisions on topics ranging from personal investments to schools for our children to the meals we eat to the causes we champion. Unfortunately, we often choose poorly. The reason, the authors explain, is that, being human, we are all susceptible to various biases that can lead us to blunder. Our mistakes make us poorer and less healthy; we often make bad decisions involving education, personal finance, health care, mortgages and credit cards, the family, and even the planet itself.

Slow
Revisado: 04-03-17
Where does Nudge rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I found the book hard to get through, the examples are long and (imho) not very entertaining. It made me lose track of the conclusions.
What didn’t you like about Sean Pratt’s performance?
It's well narrated, but slow. Some people may very well thinks that's a plus though.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from Nudge?
Nudge's message is about marketing and self-improvement alike, and anyone who thinks they take conscious and deliberate actions every day may be shocked by the truth ;-)

Much of the layperson's knowledge of the brain is predicated on a lack of understanding about this mysterious organ. To start building a more straightforward, accurate understanding of current breakthroughs in neuroscience, you have to start by shattering popular brain myths.

Replaces many books at once
Revisado: 04-03-17
This book spoiled some other books for me, which is a good thing. Having a deep understanding of your brain will help in many parts of your life. Many "tricks" I used became more useful, because I understood the reasoning better. The narrator is fun to listen to, and had fun narrating herself. Her enthusiasm was clearly audible.

The lessons in this book are applicable in any situation in which you're confronted with your own and someone else's demands or desires. You'll be better in any kind of negotiation. I even think you'll be better for the counterparty, because not splitting the difference is often a win/win situation.

Inspiring and very helpful
Revisado: 04-03-17
This book and it's message made me look at certain aspects of life in a different way. Especially the "it's on my plate" rule made me reconsider everything I thought about responsibility, cause and influence of events in my life. It turned out to be very helpful.
The book, the story and especially the narration are fun to listen to, inspiring and thought provoking. The example stories are interesting and told in a compelling way, making the deeper message not too obvious.
Music is used in a supportive way. In short, q must read for fun and because of the life lessons "hidden" in the narrative.

Wrong book but entertaining story

I wanted to read a different book with this title. The story wasn't very satisfying, but the narration made me finish it.
