Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Mixed feelings!
Revisado: 11-21-22
I can’t decide if I like this book. I can’t help but question some of her recollections as they are very detailed. There’s not a happy or sad ending… just an ending.

Love Me As I Am is Garcelle Beauvais’s smart, inspiring, and raw memoir—an entertaining and unforgettable emotional rollercoaster ride that moves from her early childhood years in Haiti to her adolescence in Boston; from her heady days as a young model in New York—her first taste of real freedom—to Los Angeles and the many ups, downs, and then more ups, both personal and professional, she experienced in her three-decade acting career, including her massive fame as a star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

So Relatable! So Real!
Revisado: 11-02-22
I’ve always really liked Garcelle, but lately I’ve grown to love her more. Her grace and eloquence during rough times is admirable. However, this book really shows she is just like us and riding the waves of life! Her girlfriend code is 100% spot on in my opinion! I listened to her read her story, but I’m also going to buy the actual book to put in my “books worth having” collection! Garcelle, you rock and I’m shouting it from the rooftops. BGM and everything else! And fyi… I love the name drops!!!

Distractingly unbelievable storyline + Horrible Narration + No likable characters = Two Thumbs Down!
Revisado: 09-30-21
I don’t recommend using a credit for this book and if it’s free, it’s too long for such a far-fetched, boring, unrealistic, horribly narrated story. I forced myself to finish. This might be my least favorite audiobook ever!!!
The story is completely unbelievable. But, that doesn’t bother me as much as all of the extra details and unnecessary storylines that had nothing to do with the overall story. This book could have been a lot shorter. Not to mention, there wasn’t a single likable character, not even the main character…especially not the main character.
The main character is…ummmm…stupid. She questions everything and never makes a logical decision, not even once. She is very insecure and a poor rep for female surgeons. The author made her so weak in the sense of having absolutely no common sense. Even worse, the main character is often impulsive, delusional, and UNLIKABLE!
Narrator’s voice is very annoying and overly dramatic. Sometimes I think she even misinterprets character’s tone. It’s weird, but I wanted to quit several times because her narration was beyond annoying…or panic-like. If possible, listen to the sample before you use a credit.
Thank me later!

Just Meh….
Revisado: 06-24-21
K.L. Slater usually delivers a good, twisty, keep you guessing book. This one for me was not one of her best. It was too weighted down with words and dragged out. In fact, you could probably skip a few chapters and not really miss anything. I actually nodded off a few times and didn’t even rewind and it didn’t matter. This is bc all of the answers are given at the end…bam, bam, bam. So be ready for turtle slow, then turbo wrap up.
I did like the main character, Alexa. Anytime a woman goes from a wimp to a badass, I’m pleased.
Last, I prefer the other female narrator Slater usually uses for her books. This female narrator wasn’t bad, but sometimes she was very monotoned which is why I fell asleep a few times. LOL. Overall, I give it a…⭐️⭐️⭐️. It was just meh…

Just OK!
Revisado: 05-01-21
The story and performance were just OK. It’s definitely not a psychological thriller. The story plot drags on and on. The entire book the husband and wife both have a secret they need to tell the other. No climax, just a plateau.

Revisado: 04-10-21
I was a little skeptical about this book at first, but it actually was interesting. I figured it out in the middle, but it was still enjoyable. The narrators also did well. I might read the other books along these lines from this author.

Good story, annoying narrator!
Revisado: 02-09-21
I enjoyed the storyline. This is more of a courtroom story than psychological thriller. The narrator was yuck and annoying. I want to read the next book, but not if it has the same narrator.
