Historia
George Orwell's classic satire of the Russian Revolution is an intimate part of our contemporary culture, quoted so often that we tend to forget who wrote the original words! This must-read is also a must-listen!

Such a great reader!
Revisado: 04-16-24
The reader’s voice was perfect for this book, a favorite of mine. This is the complete Animal Farm, with a long intro recapping the times.

Historia
How are we as Christians called to respond when cancer invades our lives, whether our own bodies or those of our friends and family? On the eve of his own cancer surgery, John Piper writes about cancer as an opportunity to glorify God. With pastoral sensitivity, compassion, and strength, Piper gently but firmly acknowledges that we can indeed waste our cancer when we don’t see how it is God’s good plan for us and a hope-filled path for making much of Jesus.

Monotone but great content
Revisado: 02-27-24
This is EXTREMELY short. The actual words of John Piper are less than thirty minutes and is read by someone that sounds like a computer. It is then followed by perhaps twenty minutes of Bible reading (less monotone reader). Once I made the choice to appreciate the voice, I got a lot out of this. Valuable thoughts on the journey we’re facing. I really appreciate Piper’s perspective and drive and encouragement. He doesn’t beat around the bush. I DO recommend this.

The best American novel to emerge from World War I, A Farewell to Arms is the unforgettable story of an American ambulance driver on the Italian front and his passion for a beautiful English nurse.

Excellent. Best reader ever. Not for children
Revisado: 01-29-24
This is my first Hemingway and I loved it. I was caught off guard by the vulgarity of the soldiers, but it’s likely realistic - just know, in case you assign it for you teen. I have listened to dozens of books and this is by far my favorite oral reader. I will look for more done by him. I keep the ending of the book ready to go, I don’t know why. I just love how Hemingway, or maybe the reader, finishes. So heart wrenching yet perfect.

Historia
As a young mother and new home educator, Leah was overwhelmed by the breadth of available resources. How to know which to choose? What would best guide and inspire her children? Whose voices should she trust? That’s when she discovered the timeless work and words of Charlotte Mason. A groundbreaking and revolutionary voice in education, Charlotte breathed life and beauty back into childhood in a stiff archaic age, opening the eyes of parent-teachers and the hearts of students—and changing the future of home education.

First 2/3rds incredible. Last 1/3 slow.
Revisado: 01-29-24
I highly recommend the first 2/3rds. It really motivated me as a mom. The last third was slow and I had to force myself to finish it. The author is the reader and she’s wonderful.
