Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Hmmm, not sure - most of my friends like sci-fi/epic - inspiring (Star Wars) type of stories. I like a good post apocalyptic/dystopia story, but this one had lots and lots of dark moments - which some folks can't handle.

Everything was always a heavy trial for the characters, Marie and Frank - but the story is a very well laid out plot with well developed characters, and definitely holds your interest in such a way, it makes you want to find out in the next story what happens to everyone - will the corrupt folks of the city of Nirvana get whats coming to them? Will there be a silver lining in the end for the poor citizens living at the Estate?

What was one of the most memorable moments of New Reality 2: Justice?

There are a lot of great moments - the 2 Estate folks holding commuters hostage; the bus scene between Marie and some young hoodlums; the bowling alley scene. I don't want to reveal too much - the story has a lot of rich detail.

The discovery by Marie of what actually was happening to the criminals of New Reality at Rixon. And the comic relief of the coffee maker named Jules and his snooty self ('would you like a coffee?') - it was nice to have some humor thrown in to what was otherwise a dark, depressing tale.

What about Christine Padovan’s performance did you like?

Her tone fit the story well - character voices were appropriate for each person's personality or machine, whether male or female. I liked her snobbish voice for Jules, especially :-) Marie's voice showed the fatique and frustration of her situation very well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it's very detailed and hard to follow if you are tired. It's better to absorb in short bursts.

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to book 3 and finding out what the final outcome is for the citizens of Nirvana :-)

What made the experience of listening to Confliction Compendium the most enjoyable?

That all of the first 4 Dragoneers Saga stories were in one purchase plus the bonus of the short, Crimzon and Clover at the end.

What did you like best about this story?

How the Dragoneers could magically 'bond' to their dragons, and the different types of villains the author came up with. Lots of intense action - the stories are never boring!

Did Christine Padovan do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes, she is a fine actress and does well with character voices. I noted The Royal Dragoneers and Cold Hearted Son of a Witch were the original recordings from early 2013 and aren't as greatly narrated as The First Dragoneer (first story and recently narrated), The Confliction and Crimzon & Clover, the bonus short story at the end.

But she does make the stories entertaining with all the different characterizations of people and even the dragons.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There's some comedic moments throughout the stories (especially in The Royal Dragoneers) that make the stories worth listening to.

Would you consider the audio edition of Kyrathaba Rising to be better than the print version?

In some ways, yes - it takes a lot of the techno speak and makes it very entertaining, but on the other hand, you have to follow the audio carefully to get the gist of what some characters are saying. This is definitely a story I would like to see Whispersync-ed and be able to follow along with the print version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There are a lot of great characters in this story, but a few who stood out were Sethra Slatten, the lead character and Grant Thompson - I enjoyed their sense of humor when battling the aliens. Their geekiness was always cool :-)

Administrator Mephord and the aliens Svareneketchmakull and Dukensenmatchlofel get honorable mention.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The halfway point in Chapter 13 when the alien Dukensenmatchlofel lands on Mt. Everest had me laughing throughout the rest of the chapter - for a debut novel, the author did a great job putting humor throughout this post-apocalyptic story.

I like how the author created a completely new paradigm - it wasn't a straight forward aliens versus humans story - there were several subplots that kept the story intriguing to the end.

Any additional comments?

Definitely will get the next in the series - I want to know what happens next!
