In this audiobook we examine some of the complex factors involved in the coming “food crisis” and the innovative ideas and technologies designed to increase food production sustainably. We also examine current industry methods to increase production and the controversies surrounding them, including not only hot-button issues like genetically modified (or GM) and processed foods but also food safety and the physical effects of the modern diet.

Dated data at launch.
Revisado: 02-21-21
I was looking forward to this book and am quite disappointed in it. Published in 2021, most all of the data is from 2006-2013, with an average of 2011. Agriculture is evolving quickly right now and most new innovations aren't discussed at all because they simply didn't exist in 2011.
In short, if you are a professional In the field or quite familiar with the ag. industry, you'll get very little out of this book. If you have next to no knowledge of the industry give it a try, but you'll be getting some dated views.
There is a clear attempt to mitigate bias, but it is still present. The section on GMOs is an obvious example, which isn't helped by the lack of any new science on the topic.
Given the rise in popularity this topic has been going through, I hoped Scientific American was going to use the opportunity to publish a comprehensive overview of modern theory and applications in the sector. Instead, they published a limited overview of the sector as it was known a decade ago.

After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him. Sadie isn't a story so much as it is an experience
Revisado: 01-23-20
This is, hands down, the best produced audio book on this platform. The myriad of voice actors, the podcast jingle I adore, and the acting is sublime.
The story itself is bitter. It's not comforting, though it has moments of reprieve, if sparse. Sadie tells a theme so real to this world, and important to recognize, that I cannot recommend it enough. This book has no age limit, or demographic. We should all understand the implications of Sadie's story and the real world implications happening every single day to girls just like her, her mother, and all the others.
This story is important.

Historia
Sydney's dad is the only psychiatrist for miles around their small Ohio town. He is also unexpectedly dead. Is Sydney crazy, or is it kind of weird that her dad - a guy whose entire job revolved around other peoples' secrets - crashed alone, with no explanation? And why is June Copeland, homecoming queen and the town's golden child, at his funeral? As the two teenagers grow closer in the wake of the accident, it's clear that not everyone is happy about their new friendship. But what is picture-perfect June still hiding? And does Sydney even want to know?

Not normally my genre, but this is phenomenal.
Revisado: 01-14-20
I am not normally a fan of Young-Adult categorized books. I find the battles of the youth to be too far removed from where I am at in life now. This, however, approaches common elements of youth with the depth of a more mature perspective. Everything from grief to love is touched upon, and described in visceral detail. I, a man of less emotion than I would like, teared up on several occasions hearing the plight of the main character and her desire to push through the plot. I highly recommend this text to both young adults and adults alike.
I look forward to Savannah Brown's next works with eagerness. Her narration was spectacular, and a big part of why I enjoyed the text.

News from Nowhere (1890) is the best-known prose work of William Morris. The novel describes the encounter between a visitor from the 19th century, William Guest, and a decentralized and humane socialist future. Set over a century after a revolutionary upheaval in 1952, these 'Chapters from a Utopian Romance' recount his journey across London and up the Thames to Kelmscott Manor, Morris's own country house in Oxfordshire.
