Such a sad story but one that all should hear. The level of corruption and disregard for human life in western society of a small town is disgusting. The story is well written and well told.i highly recommend this audio book… before or after you see the movie.

Surprisingly Entertaining and Sad

This was a thorough account of Beethoven personal life with some history of the times. Hearing what the child Beethoven endured speaks to the intensity of his music and passion of his temper. The narration was fantastic and the performance along with content related often brought a laugh. However, looking at the physically painful and mentally turbulent last years of such an amazing genius brought such a sadness. Abuse is difficult to overcome ….. for anyone.

Amazing Must Read!

I was riveted from beginning to end while listening to this 1929 book telling the amazing story of survival of a young German boy, 10 years old to his early manhood, while he lived with Apache and then Comanche Indians after having been kidnapped. Hard truths all Americans should read/hear about. Those who went West before us were brave and sturdy beyond compare… we are not fit to follow.

I was engaged, riveted, saddened and enlightened by this well written and read historical accounting of General Harry lighthouse Lee. The epilogue was also very interesting and enlightening as to the amazing parallels yet opposite paths the Lee Generals took.
I loved learning so much about them!
