When the two of them meet, they embark on a journey of self-discovery while shattering societal norms and engaging in destructively aberrant behavior. This book contains SA
Revisado: 02-01-25
I enjoy horror but I was not the target audience for this book. I knew it was dark but I didn’t realize it included SA. I must have misunderstood the synopsis. I was not able to finish reading it. Definitely what people would consider “extreme” horror.

Scooby Doo Meets Slasher Films
Revisado: 10-15-24
I had a total “hoot” reading this book. The big reveal was not what I expected, but it was a fun and wild ride, perfect for fans of slasher films or anyone with a soft spot for a Scooby mystery. Very fast paced with a diverse cast. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the many different characters to life. Highly recommend for a fun spooky read. I read this during the month of October and it put me in the Halloween spirit without being too dark. This would also be a fun read for “summer-ween.”

Fun for Labyrinth Fans
Revisado: 01-06-23
I am a fan of the Labyrinth movie and this book gave me similar vibes, in a good way. The narrator was excellent and the story was fun escapism. I was a little bummed it ended on a cliffhanger, though. I wish I would have known that before starting. Still, it was fun.

Very good Christmas devotional
Revisado: 12-24-22
A very good Christmas devotional that made me think deeply about the Christmas story. However, I think the author assumes a little too much about the actual journey to Bethlehem. I disagree with some of the minor details, but I tend to place more emphasis on scripture than on church tradition. Nevertheless, this is a very informative and interesting little book.

Join Adam Hamilton as he examines Christmas through the eyes of Joseph. Lots of fun
Revisado: 12-17-22
I reread Dracula recently and wasn’t ready to give up the world he inhabited. I was also frustrated with the way Stoker wrote his women characters. He didn’t give them enough depth for my taste and I wanted to know more about them. This book explores the deeper motivations of Mina and Lucy and was a delightful gothic adventure. It’s clear the author is very familiar with the source material and had a lot of fun with it.

Amazing
Revisado: 09-08-22
I’m fascinated by religion and folk practices. This book was like looking into a dark mirror — I thought I recognized Queen Elizabeth’s England, but everything was deliciously and darkly strange. Like an eerie blend of The Handmaid’s Tale and The Witching Hour

Historia
At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

Historia
As a teenager, Mallory O’Meara was thrilled to discover that one of her favorite movies, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, featured a monster designed by a woman, Milicent Patrick. But for someone who should have been hailed as a pioneer in the genre, there was little information available. For, as O’Meara soon discovered, Patrick’s contribution had been claimed by a jealous male colleague, her career had been cut short, and she soon after had disappeared from film history. No one even knew if she was still alive.

A wonderful and amazing story about a fascinating woman. I was so pleased to learn about Millicent’s Patrick’s place in the history of film and I’m so glad that she has been recovered from history. The author did a wonderful job reading her own work and her narration brought the story to life.

High stakes epic fantasy!
Revisado: 04-20-21
The second book in the Silent Sea Chronicles is even more exciting than the first book. The Sentinel’s Reign continues with the further adventures of the characters we know and love. The world is expansive and we get to explore it from many viewpoints. The conflict has escalated to an epic scale and war is in the air — but who will triumph? The exiles with their magic, the assembly who has been corrupted, or a new group of people from across the sea?
The narrator does an amazing job bringing the huge cast of characters to life. His interpretation of all the different voices adds lots of depth and excitement to the story. If you’re a fan of epic fantasy or classic sword and sorcery, you will enjoy this series.
