Historia
A year has passed since LAPD detective Renée Ballard quit the force in the face of misogyny, demoralization, and endless red tape. But after the chief of police himself tells her she can write her own ticket within the department, Ballard takes back her badge, leaving “the Late Show” to rebuild and lead the cold case unit at the elite Robbery-Homicide Division.

One of my favorite Bosch stories
Revisado: 06-26-24
I am a diehard Connelly fan and have read all of his Bosch novels up to this one. I am never disappointed by his work, but I am amazed that he can still come up with a story this unique and compelling after so many years. Bosch has evolved as a character through the years and where Connelly has brought him to in this novel is so fitting with the depth of writing this character deserves. Can’t wait to see where The author takes him from here!

Historia
The Mockingbird family has always lived peacefully in Jubilee, Kentucky, despite the divisions that mark their small town. Until the tense summer of 1963, when their youngest child, Isaac, falls gravely ill. Middle sister Grace, nearly fourteen, is determined to do whatever it takes to save her little brother. With her father and mother away at the hospital, Grace is left under the loving but inexperienced eye of her aunt June, with little to do but wait and worry. Inspired by a young teacher’s mission for change, she begins to flirt with danger—and with a gifted boy named Golden.

An engaging, emotional walk with a southern family in the 60’s
Revisado: 05-18-24
Cindy’s writing is so descriptive and poetic that you can see and feel that small southern town in your mind’s eye. Growing up in Louisiana in the 70’s, I can see and relate to so many of these characters in the small town I grew up in. The individuals and environment feel very authentic and I was emotionally invested early on in the novel. I have always been a fan of Cindy’s songwriting and now I am a fan of her storytelling as well.
