Nathan Heller is by far my favorite detective. The writing by Max Allan Collins and voices of Dan John Miller are the best ever!

In the aftermath of the First World War, Paris offers a liberating waystation for expatriate newspaperman Jake Barnes. Jake is a casualty of the war, and his disillusionment would be complete were it not for his relationship with the fast-living, twice-divorced Englishwoman Brett Ashley. Learning Hemingway's Style
Revisado: 07-20-24
While the dialogue was lifelike and understandable, I was underwhelmed by the story, probably because my experiences as reader are very different from Hemingway's when he wrote this.

While out of date in dialogue and setting, this Ed McBain series tells human crime stories with creative twists.

Well written story with many plot developments. Never boring. Good narration. I may listen again, in case I missed something the first time.

Historia
The never-before-told full story of the history-changing break-in at the FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania, by a group of unlikely activists - quiet, ordinary, hardworking Americans - that made clear the shocking truth and confirmed what some had long suspected, that J. Edgar Hoover had created and was operating, in violation of the U.S. Constitution, his own shadow Bureau of Investigation.

Historia
In 2012, an Oregon mother named Julie Keith opened up a package of Halloween decorations. The cheap foam headstones had been five dollars at Kmart, too good a deal to pass up. But when she opened the box, something shocking fell out: an SOS letter, handwritten in broken English.

Shocking and haunting!
Revisado: 05-05-21
A shocking and haunting look at cruel and even deadly Chinese forced labor camps holding dissidents, ethnic and religious minorities that produce some of the consumer products we buy in America. I will be more careful how I shop. The US government needs to hold China accountable and demand effective inspections to determine the source of products.

Historia
In Made in China, investigative journalist Amelia Pang pulls back the curtain. What she reveals is a closely guarded network of laogai - forced labor camps - that power the rapid pace of American consumerism. Through extensive interviews and firsthand reportage, Pang shows us the true cost of America’s cheap goods and shares what is ultimately a call to action - urging us to ask more questions and demand more answers from the companies we patronize.
