Sounds like the audio repeats itself. Throws you out of the story, what? Overall very fun.

I finished my play and had it published because this lecture series taught me to understand the structure of sentences. I return to these ideas often. I'm very grateful for it.

Historia
In this timely and important audiobook, one of the most trusted and admired writers on the world of faith examines the meaning of Scripture. The sacred texts have been co-opted by fundamentalists, who insist that they must be taken literally, and by others who interpret Scripture to bolster their own prejudices. These texts are seen to prescribe ethical norms and codes of behavior that are divinely ordained: They are believed to contain eternal truths. But as Karen Armstrong shows, such a narrow, peculiar reading of Scripture is a relatively recent, modern phenomenon.

A beautiful argument for the importance of scriptu
Revisado: 08-26-20
it was a beautiful argument for the importance of scripture. As a secular person I felt the desire to go back and look, to feel along with some of these important texts. It was an argument for an inclusive understanding of spirituality in conversation with both the past and the present. Her sense of awe at the unknowable is an important voice, both as a response to the secular and the dogmatic. what a beautiful book.

Historia
In Music as a Mirror of History, Great Courses favorite Professor Greenberg of San Francisco Performances returns with a fascinating and provocative premise: Despite the abstractness and the universality of music - and our habit of listening to it divorced from any historical context - music is a mirror of the historical setting in which it was created. Music carries a rich spectrum of social, cultural, historical, and philosophical information, all grounded in the life and experience of the composer.

incredible
Revisado: 03-30-17
Greenberg's passion is contagious. I binged all of these lectures in four or five days. Each historical subject was compelling and the nexus with the artist and art was incredible. This would be a great introduction to the great courses or a great addition for a GC vetran. I can't recommend Greenberg or this course highly enough, just get it, it is great.
