The most autobiographical of John le Carré’s works, A Perfect Spy follows two narratives: the manhunt for the double agent Magnus Pym, and the makings of the man in question—told in his own words.

A total sleeper. Pass!
Revisado: 09-23-24
This was one of the most confusing, disjointed, painfully slow books I’ve ever attempted to read/listen to. I do not understand why this is so highly rated and revered.

Great, Engaging Suspense
Revisado: 07-04-23
The author did a great job of bringing the characters to life, and telling a very dramatic story, all while keeping things just believable enough so that you could see something like this actually happening and picture yourself in the circumstances.

Historia
Some secrets have deadly consequences. Brynlee Parker thought her biggest challenge would be hiking to Dead Man’s Bluff and fulfilling her dad’s last wishes. She never thought she’d witness two men being viciously murdered while on a mountainous trail. Even worse, the deadly predator is now hunting her. Boone Wilder wants nothing to do with Dead Man’s Bluff, not after his wife died there. But he can’t seem to mind his own business when a mysterious out-of-towner burst into his camp store in a frenzied panic. Something - or someone - deadly is out there.

Excellent follow up to the first book. This has placed me firmly in the “fan camp” of the author, as well as the narrator.

Gripping Story, Unforgettable Characters
Revisado: 02-07-23
This story really surprised me with how good it is. Fast paced, suspenseful story telling, true to life characters with real world baggage and deep histories to overcome, and enough mystery and twists and turns to keep you guessing and glued to the developments. Well done!

She did it again
Revisado: 05-18-17
Tosca Lee has once again produced an amazing, gripping work of fiction in this sequel. The story and character development continue to be rich, and full, and the whole story just draws you in, making you feel as if you're right there with Audra, Luca, and the others. The whole experience is greatly enhanced by the fantastic narration work of Cassandra Campbell. Her inflection, accents, and tone are all spot on, all the time. 5 stars all the way around! You owe it to yourself to pick this up. Good luck focusing on other things until you're done!

Amazing journey
Revisado: 03-21-17
One of the best books I've read in a long time. Absolutely gripping story where the characters and events completely jump out at you and make you feel as if you know them, and are on the streets and roads with them. I'm sure this would be the case in the regular book as well, but this narrator was just about the best one I've ever heard. Flawless presentation and seamless transition between the different characters speaking, regardless of them being male or female, American or European. Incredible work there. I can't recommend this book, and this audio version, enough. Cannot wait until May 2nd for Book 2!
