One of the Best Investing Books I've Read
Revisado: 09-19-09
William Bernstein does a great job laying out the case for passive investing, explaining why it works, how people can get overly enthusiastic in stocks and how bubbles can really pop. His recommendations on Asset Allocation are also spot on for the individual investor. Highly, Highly Recommend and listen to it over and over again.

In his eighth book, Dean takes the broadest and deepest view yet of the dysfunctional chaos and institutional damage that the Republican Party and its core conservatives have inflicted on the federal government. He assesses the state of all three branches of government, tracing their decline through the presidencies of Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II.

Attention Policy Wonks - This is the book for you
Revisado: 09-19-09
I really enjoyed John Dean's Book "Conservatives without Conscience", So I thought I'd give this book a try. This book dragged more because it gets into the nitty-gritty details of government. You will learn things, especially about the Supreme Court. But this book is only for the people who really like the "Sausage Making" of Government.

Good Overview of the Mess that is Wall Street
Revisado: 09-19-09
Dan Gross does a good job of outlining what happened up to December 2008. Easy to Follow and really goes to show that we need more regulation in Wall Street. I would recommend.

Published Too Soon
Revisado: 09-19-09
This book was published too soon. I was also disappointed that they referenced so many internet and blog comments. I was looking more for facts and insights into why Madoff did this horrific scam. Wanted to know how it worked and how he pressured his feeder funds. Felt I got more out of the one hour Frontline program than this book. Would not recommend.

A 2 Hour Road to No Where!
Revisado: 06-14-09
I bought this book believing that it would help shed some light on where I should hold my retirement assets and how best to maximize my retirement savings from a tax standpoint. To my severe displeasure, what I purchased was a two hour advertisement for the author's other books. This audio book did not give details, just where to look. I am throughly disappointed that Audible would have a book like this on it's catalog of great investment audio books.

John Bogle's words are insightful, honest, and life changing if you take them to heart. I fully recommend this book if you want to learn how the real mutual fund industry works and how low costs, low turn-over and the act of long term investing will make you more successful than most your friends or neighbors.
