Safe and predictable listen

It’s not bad, but a very predictable storyline with obvious characters.
It’s exactly like hunger games combines with a couple other common heroine overcoming all odds plot line. I found myself rolling my eyes constantly and am finishing solely because I spent money on this. It has potential and if you’re looking do something easy to zone out to it’s not bad.

This is easily my favorite book to date. The plot twist had be gasping and ripping my AirPods out, my anxiety high, and the steamy scenes…girl I was on FIRE.
The author does a great job of creating a consistent universe, unexpected plot twists, and deep character growth that has been begging for the next book. I can’t say enough good things, I’m HOOKED

However, I had zero complaints about the first book, but this one did get a tiny cringey at the end when it went from “no one can have you but me” to this weird thruple ish vibes and the immediate back and forth banter between the two MMC. Still, I’m begging for the next book.

Narration is on point, storyline is unique and well done, and that cliffhanger has my anxiety level spiking in the best way 🥵🔥 You won’t regret this one!

Meh not for me

Made it to chapter 10 and couldn’t do it anymore. The pace is so slow, an interesting fantasy but over descriptive on pointless facts with inconsistencies that make me cringe.

Fantastic narration
Traveling adventure
Slooooow burn (no spicy but I think book 2 will hit it)
Positive character growth & detailed fantasy world
Can’t wait for book 2!

BUY THE BOOK!

I just finished and I’m only pausing to buy the second book to tell you to buy this one!
I’ve been so tired to lacking storylines that focus only on spicy scenes, but this one had me addicted. The world this author created is detailed and amazing, and clutching my chest those plot twist had me gasping out loud. The perfect mix of savage villain love interest without being too over the top cringe.

A little too much

I love a good forced love villain books, and while this one is 6.8/10, it’s rapey. Usually forced scenes have a lot of character deportment beforehand and more…consent. But this book goes straight into the steamy scenes and is 100% non consensual. While I loveee some dirty boarder line smut, this too me went a little over the line of ick. Storyline is good, not mind blowing but I’m buying the sequel now.

He has the ability to control human bodies in which he basically forces her body and emotions to submit as he takes her again and again.

Love the storyline but the female lead is grating

I really enjoy this storyline and narration, and I enjoy the character growth shown by the orcs. However, it’s getting really repetitive with Jewels reactions. She is learning more about his kind, keeps sleeping with him every night, only to turn into this defensive, repetitive victim whining about the same things over and over. Her lash outs just sound like a spoiled child, not anything like the brave female she was introduced as. I want to see her growth and understanding like the orcs are showing every new scene, but she is self involved and with little reason.

I’m halfway through, I’m really hoping it turns around cause the narration is hot and I love the whole he is ugly vibe but I can’t help it.

The storyline is just as good as the spicy scenes. I love the daring way this book pushes the lines of right/wrong but has your craving more all the same. My favorite romance so far.
