Terrible Disappointment

This is one of my favorite novels of all time. I've read it multiple times, and love it just as much with each read. The positively ATROCIOUS narration, MURDERED this story. I was barely able to make it half way through before I had to give up. I understand the temptation to use correct accents, but these were terribly done. If this narrator ever did ANY French based pieces, I can only assume every character would end up sounding like Maurice Chevalier.
I'm glad it was included with the subscription, and I didn't waste a credit.

From Hate to Hope

Never have I rooted for a character more. When Michael Hollister was introduced in the 1st novel, I never would have expected to enjoy his character and root for his success. This was a beautiful work.

The sorry just didn't flow. it seemed to jump all over the place, and not just within the different setting.
The reader did an poor job articulating voices, and a particularly poor job with established character voices. This in addition to mispronouncing certain names that had also been established, made for an unenjoyable listen.

I can see why this work was used as evidence in Oscar Wilde's trial.

I always believed in what I could see. Sure I was raised in one of those Christian non-denominational churches by my parents and a very strict Mimi, but my beliefs were not exactly solid. That all changed when I found myself rocketing through the cosmos after hitting an ambush while on patrol in the sandbox. I landed in a magic circle made by an Archmage bent on world domination. Spoiler alert, Fantasy Hitler isn't bulletproof!

It's easy to see that the author knew where he wanted the story to go, but wasn't sure how to get there. After the first few chapters, it gets GOOD!!!
You can hear the author's military service in ever line.
