Historia
This week Leah and Mike talk to their old friend Chris Shelton about cult apologists. These are the people who make a career (often lucrative) out of offering expert academic opinions in support of "New Religious Movements" -- cults. It's a racket that scientology has used to gain credibility. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com

Only ONE review? C’mon people! Great Podcast!

We need more listeners! How can we get the word out so more people can be educated about not only Scientology as a cult but other large cults as well. I enjoy the camaraderie between Leah and Mike. They’re warriors!

Historia
Four years after his father died a hero's death fighting a fire, Tim Ginocchetti was behind bars for killing his mother. How one tragedy led to another is a true story that puts a horrifying twist on the familiar one of bullied gay teens. In this case, the bully was the teen's own mother, and instead of harming himself he killed her in a momentary but irreversible explosion of rage.

A Grandmother’s Love
Revisado: 01-30-22
This was a short but very interesting story. The church was definitely on the radical side and the Mom was relentlessly abusive to her adult son who only tried to please her by not being his authentic self. I hope he’s out of prison and can see the true and negative effects of his former “religion” and live out loud and proud.

Very well done. Great storytelling. Compelling story. I don’t want to say too much and ruin the story but it’s worth a listen.

Historia
Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

Historia
When Misty was six years old, her family started to live and dress like the Amish. Misty and her sister were kept as slaves on a mountain ranch where they were subjected to almost complete isolation, sexual abuse, and extreme physical violence. When Misty reached her teens, her parents feared she and her sister would escape and took them to an Amish community where they were adopted and became baptized members. Misty was devastated to once again find herself in a world of fear, animal cruelty, and sexual abuse.

Rough but worth it…

This was really tough to listen to. The level of abuse this woman endured is crushing yet it didn’t crush her. I hope the author is living a very happy life on her own terms.
