Historia
Lucas would follow his best friend anywhere. Which is how he ended up bartending on Cravenwood Block. He's got a great place to live, an amazing found family, and his best friend by his side. Everything is perfect...until he realizes he's fallen for Dean. Dean worked hard and landed the exact job he's always wanted. He's blessed with chosen family and his life-long best friend. Finding the right girl to settle down with seems impossible, but Dean isn't letting the task (or his overbearing parents) dampen his happiness.

Great ending to the series
Revisado: 10-04-24
(Some of my review is based on the series so it’s the same as in other books from the series but everything specific to this book has been edited)
I often avoid shorter books that focus on only one couple because so many books waste so much time on silly misunderstandings that you don’t have time to enjoy the couple building a relationship or rush into things so quickly that it seems totally implausible and just doesn’t “feel” like a real relationship. The books in this series are perfect examples of books that walk the line perfectly between taking time to build a relationship and not wasting time on unnecessary stuff. It’s nice that at times we move forward in time a week or two or something so you don’t feel like everything on page happened in such a short period of time that it’s implausible. I also really like the way this series does truly focus on one relationship per book but has a group that becomes so close over the course of the series that reading them together feels completely cohesive and allows you to enjoy the other characters in each book as the series progresses.
This book had a slightly different feel to it than the other books in the series because Lucas and Dean have been lifelong friends that we first meet as they move into the apartment in Cravenwood rather than a couple who meets at the start of their book. There was a good balance between giving us their history and just letting things play out in the present. I think that the way that they both rediscovered one another as they added romance and sexual attraction to their relationship was really interesting and I liked that they both really struggled with what that meant for them. I also really liked the way they dealt with their families and decided that they didn’t want to get stuck in toxic family dynamics but leaned on the support they had. This was a great ending to the series as well in that in the end we saw how the entire family in the Cravenwood apartment was moving forward together.
The narration was good with nice pacing and a pleasant reading voice. There were occasional times where a bit of background noise was there (traffic sounds) but it was so low that it didn’t detract. The one negative thing I would say about listening to the book is that the characters sometimes had inner dialogue with themselves in the middle of a conversation that made it a little confusing in the audiobook to know when they were speaking and when they were just thinking. Again it didn’t detract from the book enough to make it unpleasant to listen to.
In all I would definitely recommend this book and I would also recommend reading the whole series in order. I also wanted to say that after listening to the whole series I enjoyed that they overlapped in when they took place so even though the couples often started their relationships at the same time we get to see each develop from beginning to end not just start at the point in time that the last book ended.

Julian is content with great friends, close family, and a job he loves. While his love life has been a bit lackluster, he’s not one to complain. He might not be actively looking for love, but if the right man happens to come along, Julian wouldn’t pass up a potential romance. Shaw has single-handedly pulled himself up from the depths of a traumatic past and he’s ready for the next step. The moment he finds himself on Cravenwood Block, Shaw knows his situation is about to change for the better.

Julian and Shaw were definitely my favorite couple in this series. Julian couldn’t possibly have been sweeter and the way he treated Shaw was absolutely perfect. Shaw was just amazing in how he overcame the trauma in his past and found the courage to trust not only Julian but all of the men in this found family. The way that Julian tried to give Shaw all of the firsts that he missed out on from holding hands to getting drunk with friends to the sexy stuff was so heartwarming and the prom that turned into something that so many of the guys got into as a chance to just be themselves was amazing. I was so happy that this book came after the first two because it made it so much more meaningful in how the first two couples supported Shaw. I also really liked the way Shaw and the guys reacted to Shaw’s past and the texts that everyone got threatening him. I was definitely surprised by who it ended up being and Shaw couldn’t have handled the final confrontation better.
Jett is accustomed to people thinking he’s an intimidating, aloof loner. He doesn’t really mind, even though finding a special connection to someone would be nice. Opening his own tattoo shop on Cravenwood Block is a dream come true, but he isn’t prepared for the determined little ray of sunshine who walks through his door and turns his entire world upside down.

Jett and Leighton were wonderful MCs that I liked from the beginning and while the book didn’t have a lot of angst the characters had backstories that made them feel like real people with real issues. I also enjoyed the way Jett dealt with his sexuality and didn’t feel like the revelation that he was attracted to a man for the first time was no big deal. I also really liked Leighton. He really did consider his past relationship and didn’t just jump into things despite being the one who pushed Jett from the very beginning. I also liked that he considered how Jett was dealing with his attraction to a man and was sensitive to his feelings. The banter between the two was also very funny and I liked that throughout the rest of the series that Leighton would continue to use silly nicknames that Jett would immediately shoot down.
The narration was good with nice pacing and a pleasant reading voice. There were occasional times where a bit of background noise was there (traffic sounds) but it was so low that it didn’t detract. Historia
My role as Moric—ruler of a small and prosperous fiefdom in a quiet corner of the world—has always been painfully dull and stifling. Until a beautiful, otherworldly creature with pink skin and a mane of golden hair falls through a strange void that has appeared in my guestroom. I am instantly captivated by him. I have never seen anything like him. I have no idea where he came from, and what else is through that unsettling void—another world filled with soft-skinned, defenseless creatures like him? No tails, no horns, no claws, no sharp teeth. Tiny clothing, rounded ears, bright blue eyes.

Revisado: 03-10-24
While this story mostly precedes and exists away from the earlier stories in this series it ties in nicely and I can’t wait to see how everything will come together in the next book(s). The only thing I don’t like about this series is waiting for the next one to come out. Flawless narration as always.

With the help of his found family and his beloved Prince Sylvain, Lochlann Wilde has finally conquered the four oriels of the Wispwood. Now that the elemental gemstones are united in his amulet, Locke can earn Aphrodite’s favor. Whatever that may be. But there’s plenty to do in the meantime, anyway. Catching up with his mom, for example, or exploring his true identity as a half-undine human. Sylvain’s hotness and histrionics keep him very busy, too.

Amazing end to a wonderful series
Revisado: 12-09-23
The final book in the this series was definitely all I hoped it would be. There were a lot of twists and I couldn’t have predicted most of them at all. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite from this world that nazri created but I can definitely say that I loved everything about the wispwood and am very excited to see how the other magical academies show up in future series.

Historia
Lord Tristram Radcliffe has a secret - he is the only dragon at the king’s court in Llangard. It’s a secret he’s kept from the knights he’s fought beside, from the ladies who bat their lashes at him, and from his closest companion, Prince Reynold. If it were to get out, he’d be banished to the Mawrcraig Mountains along with the rest of his kind, but the kingdom of men is the only one he’s ever known, and his heart lives in the stone halls of those who’d count him an enemy.

Exciting start to the series
Revisado: 12-05-23
I, like a few others in reviews I’ve read, was a bit confused at times for probably the first quarter to third or the book. Like many other stories where there are multiple MCs and a fair bit of world building to be done it was easy to lose track of who was who and exactly what was going on at first. In fact this was my second attempt at this book because the first time I wasn’t enjoying how closely I had to pay attention in the early chapters. I can definitely say though that it was well worth the time to get into the story and once I got to know the characters and world I really enjoyed the book. I’ve already purchased books 2 and 3 and am excited to see where the story goes from here.
Just a warning that there’s definitely a major cliffhanger at the end of the book but if you’re like me you will want to dive into the next book immediately anyway and since the whole series is available it’s not a big deal.
I enjoyed both narrators.

One ghost from the past. Two unknown Australian monsters eating people. Three men who won’t let either problem win. Familiars of choice, healing old wounds, Australian mythology (yes, Nico and Wicky are in Australia): it goes about as well as anyone could expect. With giant amphibians of unusual size that stump even the MAD research department, Wicky may have summoned Godzilla (in his defense he was left unsupervised). The next time they have to travel to a different continent Bel is drugging Nico first...

Revisado: 12-02-23
This book had everything I love about an AJ book and was an amazing 2nd entry in the series. I think that my favorite part of this book was that even with all of the drama from Spencer the relationship between our MCs didn’t have any silly misunderstandings or misunderstanding. The familiars should never be anything but supportive and amazing and they were. Bel accepted their love and it made for a great story that already had more than enough in it to be interesting and engaging. On to Wicky’s book…

My mortal skin is gone. I’m one of them—one of the Folk—and all I feel is anger. I’m going to kill the Carlin and her sons for everything they did to me. It’s all I care about. But first, I have to navigate this new world, my new skin, my new brother, and, when I fall into her clutches, my fae mother—the Brid, the Seelie Queen. I don’t like what I’m becoming, but I can’t stop it. Something’s wrong with me. Something’s missing. There’s a hollow ache in my chest, and I can’t fill it, no matter what I do. It’s like I’ve forgotten something vital from my time on unseelie land.

I definitely enjoyed Ash building a relationship with his brother and Gilly and I loved when he and Ronan reconnected but honestly I enjoyed it all and absolutely can’t wait to see how they defeat the Carlin and how the two of them build a life together as Kings. I think I enjoyed the second half of this book more as Ash grew into life away from the Unseelie land but the beginning where he was angry and mistrustful had to be there for the story to make sense.
