Simple Minded
Revisado: 09-07-09
I consider myself a conservative so I thought I'd enjoy this book but found it overly simplistic and overly focused on what was percieved as big government asserting itself. It came across as paranoia rather than an objective view of ever expanding executive powers. Beck sees big government everywhere!

Historia
We view the long, horrifying struggle from the vantage of the White House as Lincoln copes with incompetent generals, hostile congressmen, and his raucous cabinet. He overcomes these obstacles by winning the respect of his former competitors, and in the case of Seward, finds a loyal and crucial friend to see him through. This brilliant multiple biography is centered on Lincoln's mastery of men and how it shaped the most significant presidency in the nation's history.

Just a great Story
Revisado: 12-19-04
Lost Boys is very different than Card's sci-fi works; it shows the breadth he has a a story teller. I thought the story was gripping because as a parent it was easy to identify with the characters and all they were going through as a family - then everything that was just kind of going on in the background of the story erupts and the ending hits like a ton of bricks. Great story.

Good book but why is it abridged???
Revisado: 06-27-04
I'm a fan of Vince Flynn's books and I really like Memorial day but would greatly prefer them to be unabridged as they tend to lose a lot in the abridgement and make the plot sound too simple. Better off reading the full book.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

A Must Read
Revisado: 03-29-04
This was my first Sci-Fi book in a long time and I was not disappointed. Enders Game is full of compelling characters, has a great story line and is fast paced. I highly recommend it - even to people who do not traditionally go for the Sci-Fi genre. This book earns its high rating.

A real time saver
Revisado: 09-17-03
I've been listening to the morning read of WSJ for three weeks now. I've never been able to read it at work given the hectic environment but was always getting asked questions about various articles. The synopsis format is very effective in keeping me up to speed on most important items. One improvement however might be to include all of the front page bullets so listeners know to follow up on items not gone over in detail if needed.
