Historia
In a profound, funny, and beautifully rendered portrait of a beloved companion, bestselling novelist Dean Koontz remembers the golden retriever who changed his life. A retired service dog, Trixie was three when Dean and his wife, Gerda, welcomed her into their home. She was superbly trained, but her greatest gifts couldn’t be taught: her keen intelligence, her innate joy, and an uncanny knack for living in the moment.

warm and sweet
Revisado: 03-30-25
this was a feel good story and it made me see the characters and their relationship with each other from an outside view. I love dogs so it was entertaining but my favorite reads are the ones I can connect with, be a part,or feel like I am there with the characters. This read was easy to set aside and come back to weeks later.

In the beginning of the novel, Hester is serving time in prison for having a child out of wedlock and is forced to wear a scarlet A on her clothing at all times, so she cannot run from her sin no matter where she goes.

Revenge is not sweet.
Revisado: 01-24-23
Sin is impartial. It's guilt the weaponry of evil. Forgiveness is the answer not revenge.

Historia
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

excellent mystery.
Revisado: 01-01-23
I love the writing and the storyline. John Grisham is one of and likely my favorite of my read authors.
I enjoy a story where the bad guys go down and the falsely accused go free.

A slow historical romance fiction
Revisado: 05-28-22
The story was entertaining but progressed slowly...too much so. I was a bit bored with the character of Agnes (mother) and I would have e preferred a bit more from the rebellious Caroline. After dragging along for most of the chapters the neat ending tied everything together rather quickly.
A happy ending for all but the bad guy.

vulgar and foul
Revisado: 11-30-21
I could not finish listening through this book. I overlooked a lot of the language at first but the verbal description of trying to make a horse's penis fit into the vagina of a woman was more than I could stand. I do not recommend this book to anyone with any sensibility.
