Historia
Emma is the one that got away. The only survivor of a serial killer known in the tabloids as “The Hairdresser”, because of the trophies he takes from his victims. The police aren't convinced. Nor is her husband. She never actually saw her tormentor properly, but now she recognizes him in every man she sees. Haunted by the horrifying incident and unwanted notoriety, Emma gives up her job as a psychiatrist and retreats from the outside world to recuperate at home, where it’s quiet. Where she can be anonymous and safe. Where no one can hurt her.

Historia
Steve Harvey can't count the number of impressive women he's met over the years - the many incredible women who can run a business, have three kids, maintain a household in tiptop shape, and chair a church group all at the same time. So when it comes to relationships, why can't these same women figure out what makes men commit? According to Steve, it's because they're asking other women for advice when they should be going directly to the source.

Besides don't jump into sex so quickly...this was a 1930's lecture to modern women on how to take care of a man's emotional health. How to make him feel like a man, how to show appreciation....and let's not forget....still look sexy women and put out on the regular. Really??? Wish I could BURN this book. Gotta go barf..

Historia
In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

Her life story in a neat package
Revisado: 11-30-18
I found this book's main message to be one of self encouragement. When the world tells you that "maybe you're not good enough," to hold your head high and keep moving forward. When the doubts creep in, push through to get to the other side.
She was fortunate to have had that stability in her childhood, many dont't. When, as a child, you are constantly seeking stability, it may perhaps be more difficult to believe that "you are good enough."
All in all, the book is well written and gives a peek into her world, even if said peek has a "Hollywood movie" filter on it.

Historia
If You're In My Office, It's Already Too Late. James Sexton knows this. After dealing with over 1000 clients whose marriages have dissolved over everything from an ill-advised threesome with the nanny to the uneven division of carpool duties, he also knows all of the what- not-to-dos for couples who want to build - and consistently work to preserve - a lasting, fulfilling relationship. Described by former clients as a "courtroom gunslinger" and "the sociopath you want on your side", Sexton tells the unvarnished truth about relationships. These usually derive from dishonest communication.

Great Book, Great Listen.
Revisado: 05-15-18
I truly could not find fault with this book. Lots of common sense for when you realize you want a divorce and lots of common sense for those who may think they can make it work. Read,...um...listen and ask yourself the tough questions.
As the author stated, "too many people put more research into buying a car than choosing a life mate."
Wish I had read this book in my twenties, but alas, it wasn't written. This book is a "shot of life experiences" that saves you headaches and heartache" down the road.

Historia
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

3 stars at best
Revisado: 12-03-17
I have been an avid fan of Stephen King since my teens and have read just about all his books. The concept of this book was original and appealing, however, it appeared as though the plot was quite chaotic. For example: Why would the bodies of the sleeping women be left (vulnerable and unprotected) in the land of men?
The same men that (per the book) had caused and continued to be hostile towards these women?
So, while there seems to be the opportunity for these women to "start over" in a better place without fear of violence from men, there's really no escape as their bodies are at the mercy of the men (stuck with their sleeping bodies) .
I would not recommend this. I felt it fell short of accomplishing what Stephen and Owen King may have set out to do.

Historia
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

Not very thought provoking.
Revisado: 11-30-16
This book was sooo limited in what the villain should have been capable of. Most of the characters did not come across as legitimate in their thought process.
Wish I had skipped this one.

Page Turner
Revisado: 05-15-16
Loved the transition from Book 1 into the second. At times, the charcter, who is 14, comes across as way too mature for this years. Other than that, a page turner.
