Historia
Change is coming to Sweden’s far north: its untapped natural resources are sparking a gold rush with the criminal underworld leading the charge. But it’s not the prospect of riches that brings Lisbeth Salander to the small town of Gasskas. She has been named guardian to her niece Svala, whose mother has disappeared. Two things soon become clear: Svala is a remarkably gifted teenager—and she’s being watched.

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-16-25
The text was well written, but there was absolutely NO plot. Also, I was seriously disappointed how the main characters ,Salander and Bloomquist seemed to dissolve into boring, minor characters with no real presence in the story.

Strange story!!!!
Revisado: 12-27-22
Although I thought the characters were excellent, the plot in this book was so ridiculously complex, I found it very difficult to follow it.

Excellent novel.
Revisado: 11-10-21
Best novel I have listened to in a LONG time. This book had one of the best blend of characters and plot that I encountered in a long time, and the author did a masterful job of bringing these characters to life.

exciting story.
Revisado: 11-13-19
This was a long and very complex plot with so many moving parts, but the author did a remarkable job of keeping it all tied together and relentlessly driving forward. However, although I will not put in a spoiler, I thought the ending was the worst part, clearly just a setup for additional volumes. I was most disappointed in the ending.

Historia
Alex Cross' first case since joining the FBI has his new colleagues stymied. Across the country, men and women are being kidnapped in broad daylight and then disappearing completely. These people are not being taken for ransom, Alex realizes. They are being bought and sold. And it looks like a shadowy figure known as the Wolf, a master criminal who has brought a new reign of terror to organized crime, is behind this business in which ordinary men and women are sold as slaves.

Not one of his best
Revisado: 05-10-19
I love James Patterson's books, but he went over the edge on this one. The book was just an endless series of cases, one after the other, where some villain was suspected of being the Wolf and then turned out NOT to be the Wolf! By the end of the book I had lost track of the different characters and even the names of the bad guys. The book finishes with a dramatic scene in the epilogue where the Wolf comes out of the shadows, but we end up still not having any clue who the Wolf actually is or who he is working for or even whether he was the same person who was the Wolf in the earlier chapters..... and even more puzzling, Alex Cross, the main, hero of the story was not even involved in the epilogue!! Frankly it sounded to me as if Patterson got tied up in the twists and turns of the main plot and then just decided to finish the book with a dramatic epilogue that had no real link to anything else in the plot. Definitely not one of his best plots.

Good story but very strange characters
Revisado: 12-08-18
I enjoyed the plot but the characters were weak and very strange. Unlike the Jonathan Quin character, it was not at all clear why the protagonists were suitable for the mission on which they were deployed, or even capable of executing it. I finished the story scratching my head in bewilderment. I did enjoy the plot but I think he rushed through the climb far too fast, and did very little to introduce the kidnap victims into the plot.

Historia
Dirk Pitt, the director of the National Underwater and Marine Agency, is on the Black Sea, helping to locate a lost Ottoman shipwreck, when he responds to an urgent Mayday - "under attack!" - from a nearby freighter. But when he and his colleague, Al Giordino, arrive, there is nobody there. Just dead bodies, a smell of sulfur in the air, and, as Pitt and Giordino explore, a blast from the stern that scuttles the ship swiftly, almost taking them with it.
