Historia
The long-awaited sequel to Jake’s Magical Market is finally here—and now with more market! Well, not quite yet. First, Jake has to survive a perilous trek through time if he ever hopes to return home to his friends, his market, and his former world. The last time we saw our intrepid hero, Jake had barely managed to escape being trapped on a dead version of his own world. Using a combination of his new powers, he threw himself backward through time, back to when the god that trapped him first rose to power.

this book is trash
Revisado: 11-16-24
The first book was good. this one is trash. there is really nothing good about it. the mc had some growth, training progression in the first book. all that was not only wiped out in this book but the MC turned into a lazy, coward, whiney, idiot. even calling him an idiot is nice. every thing he does is straight up stupid. I imagine the author was going for campy humor, problem is none of it was really funny. it's was crigny mostly.
the story itself was boring, disjointed, all over the place. Slow pace, stupid decisions, boring content, missing obvious things right in front of his face, scatter brain writing

2.5 but not good enough to give a 3.
Revisado: 12-11-23
performance. was decent but sloooow had to speed it up to 1.35 times to even be able to listen to it. the narrator really needs to fix that. if he would have read at a listenable pace I would have give a 4.
the story.
I like the other series from this author I'd say a solid 3.5-4 for that series.
this book, lazy/rushed.
world building poor to average.
plot poor. so many plot holes and just flat out stupid plot points.
characters poor. MC is un likeable and not intreaging enough to make up for that.
80% of other characters are all the same. as in its hard to tell them apart when reading. and there character can be summed up in one word. snark.
this book is disappointing and i just bearly finished it. the author cuts you off at the end of the book on a huge cliff hanger, good for him, but by the end of the book I just don't care what happens enough to pick up the next book.

big let down from first book
Revisado: 07-11-23
first book was good.
this one was a huge let down. mc girlfriend is toxic and almost useless but mc kiss her butt. almost want her to get killed off.
mc was a bad A in first book but he's turning into a tool.
there were some good parts but the hoke mc and his girlfriend ruin a lot of stuff.
hopefully next book gets better.

Historia
Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. However, his perseverance has not gone unnoticed, and when the most powerful artificial intelligence in human history takes an interest in him, things began to change quickly.

meh it's meh
Revisado: 06-24-23
This book could have been so much better.
But there is alot wrong with it.
do not like the narrator his voice is fine its his choice like dramatic pauses and drawing out shit and the speed he reads. had to bump it to 120% to be able to listen to it.
I'm not sure if the auther just didn't realize how brain dead he made a lot of characters.
Example, Someone has basically God tier growth rate and high ranking military officers don't want to take him into thier school. Sorry that is just brain dead and even the worst officer ever in The history of all military wouldn't be that short sited. Very bad writting. That is just one of many terrible plot points.
The mc is also some jack A white night type character, which I can't stand anymore. Like he is ambushed and says he's going to get back at the people but you know he is never going to actually do anything and they will never actually be punished. Wouldn't surprise me if in further books he will be super best friends with everyone who treated him like shit.
Also there is a lot of typical writing styles the author uses that are terrible. Like constantly trying to hid something, then revealing it, and your really disappointed because it was incredibly obvious.
Long winded explnations, long winded descriptions of stuff that doesn't matter. Whole chapters on characters that don't matter.
Terrible fight scene writing. Fights should be written. Like in real life. There isnt frigging time to stop and think and come up with some hair brained plan. It's all muscle memory, action and reaction unless there are rounds. The best fight scenes are when they are Unbroken. stopping the fight scene to elaborate on stuff breaks up the action and makes the fight a lot less engaging.
It wasn't terrible I did actually finish the book, but that's probly just because I don't have anything good to read atm. I stopped reading it multiple times.

really bad
Revisado: 05-29-23
this story is like listening to a vegan trying to tell you how only being vegan is moral and everything else is bad while he's almost bursting in to tears the entire time. I mean. the MC almost had a mental break down because he killed a bunch of plankton. wtf??
there are also a bunch of annoying plot holes
I pretty sure the mc seaming likes hes about the cry the enture time is 50%writting 50% narration. but the narrator also reads so slow I wouldn't have been able to make it past the first chapter if I hadn't been able to increase the speed to 130%.
I love the other series this author wrote, except for the latest book in that series. so this was a huge let down.
I was listening to this on a long drive and unfortunately listened to to much to return it otherwise I would have.

A talisman brush older than time itself sends him to another world, where magic, fortune, and danger await. Now, the world is at his fingertips. He has a new life, a new body, and can wield the five elements. It’s too bad his new home is a place where might makes right, and immortal cultivators and demons fight at the drop of a hat. Boring, and failed hard at trying to be profound
Revisado: 05-02-23
story is really boring, unoriginal, nothing memorable
listened to about half only because it was free.
the author tries really hard to make like everything profound but it's bad, simple word vomit, like a 14 year old was told to write something profound.
I think the narrator is trying to put you to sleep they way he's reading it. seriously bad.
couldn't finish, won't recommend.

Very shallow book all around
Revisado: 04-30-23
The premise for the book is what made me try thus book but it was poorly done and boring.
The book is very shallow. characters, world building, the litrpg system are all very shallow. The writting/prose is also very basic.
The narrator is overly dramatic and does a poor job with different voices.
wouldn't recommend and won't be continuing with the following books.

The circus of death to prove the worth of mankind is reaching its bloody finale. Fighting the monsters threatening to overwhelm mankind brought out the best and the worst out of humanity. And true to its purpose as a measurement of worthiness, ultimate victory in the raids would require more than just strength. The final chapter awaits, the judgment of the fate of mankind is about to begin.

Author phoned in this book first two were good.
Revisado: 04-29-23
100% author just wanted to be done. completely rushed. dropped most litrpg aspects/progression by halfway through the book. ending was shaping up to maybe have something cool but was like a teenager wrote it and was completely predictable, boring and rushed. If I had known the last book was this bad prob would have skipped this series.
I recommend skipping this series.
