Tommy's nickname is Lucky, but no one would think this crippled boy was blessed. Cursed with health problems and drawn into trouble more often than not, Tommy is the recipient of pity rather than admiration. He is nothing like his stepbrother Eric.

Soulful and sorrowful
Revisado: 06-24-23
I was close to tears the entire way through this book. Tragedy and sorrow but also triumph and love! I will look for the book and read it again. Very well written and narrarated.

The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

HEATH MILLER!!!!!
Revisado: 02-08-23
Is anyone talking about what an exceptional talent Heath Miller is?!? Every accent, every character...PERFECTION! I get so lost in the storytelling that I forget that there's only one storyteller! Someone give him all the awards...literally.

FRUSTRATING!
Revisado: 09-20-22
I want to love this book series SO BAD! The storyline is strong and a good one! But it's frustrating to listen to it from someone sounding like they're reading instead of acting. the mispronunciations of words, the STUPID accent/intonation he chose for Animal is all wrong and the stilted/stutter reading just pissed me all the way off! AND... like I said from my last review...FIRE YOUR EDITOR! How does Animal II end with Shai Clark pulling political strings to get Animal out of trouble only to hear in book 3 that he got out of trouble some other way??? And why did you copy and paste the flashback scenes instead of giving a brief synopsis of the memories? That's just lazy, man! I am completely, emotionally invested in this series. I love the storyline. I love the characters, but all those little things ruin it for me! And either make Cary Hite actually read the book before performing it or fire him and redo them with someone who actually knows how to tell a story! He sucked in the first 2 books, made good on the 3rd and then went back to suckin' on Animal III. Maybe you should look at Michael Boatman. He's AWESOME in the Easy Rawlins series. I know this is all my opinion, but being an avid reader and a fan, I can't help but vent my frustration when something that is SO CLOSE to perfection is ruined by inaccuracies and subpar performances.

Historia
After being thought dead, Animal resurfaces on the streets of New York to keep true to his promise and make it rain blood over Harlem. All those who had wronged him would feel his wrath, including Shai Clark, boss of the New York underworld. But touching a man like Shai Clark proves easier said than done. Using Animal's soul mate, Gucci, as bait, Shai sets a trap for the young killer.

inconsistent
Revisado: 09-07-22
Each book in this series gets better and better, but who is the editor?!? Whoever it is, needs to be fired. I'll give an example. In a sex scene between Animal and Portia (Porsche) it says how he flipped her over and started hitting it from the back. So in that scene, how is it possible that his balls were hitting her ass? Is he anatomically deformed? did he do a reverse handstand and hit it upside down? Because those are the only ways her feeling his balls on her ass is possible. And there were SEVERAL inconsistencies like that. Other than that, I am growing to love this series. Even the narrator is improving with each read. Great job everyone...except the editor...you suck.

I loved this story! Long time Dean Koontz fan here and this put me in mind of the Odd Thomas series, yet still separate and unique. I LOVED the narration! The switch between characters was so fluid and effortless that I found myself coming back to the book details to see if more than one person was reading! Everything about this was great!

This was more than an autobiography. This was a self-help guide as well and I LOVED IT! I related and connected with SO MANY of Mr. Smith's situations that I feel like I know him on a deep, deep level now! This book was filled with so many insights and pearls of wisdom! Kudos to you, Sir, for keeping it real and being so open and vulnerable with your readers. I was already a huge fan and now I feel like no one can admire your innate ability to entertain, teach and transform the way you do more than me! I loved the book, loved the narration, loved the realness. And yes...you were dead wrong for the GG/Jason's Lyric prank!!! LOL

A series of murders follows, each with a distinct signature, alerting Bennett to the presence of a professional killer with a flair for disguise. Michael Bennett can't tell what's driving the assassin. But he can tell it's personal.

Revisado: 09-06-21
As always, James Patterson delivers. The narrator really shouldn't attempt any other accents besides American and Irish. His Spanish sounds Irish. His French sounds Irish. Any accent other than Irish sounds Irish. Ridiculous.

I struggled with this one. I was definitely not a fan of the narrator in the last book, but he completely won me over with this performance. My issue is the story fell flat for me. Why so many subplots? It was just okay.
