Historia
The Mote In God's Eye is their acknowledged masterpiece, an epic novel of mankind's first encounter with alien life that transcends the genre. No lesser an authority than Robert A. Heinlein called it "possibly the finest science fiction novel I have ever read".

A great alien story
Revisado: 05-19-24
I remember reading The Mote in God's Eye when I was 10 or 11 - a yellowed paperback with lovely cover art and a back blurb having absolutely nothing to do with the story. I fell in love and stole my dad's copy (then replaced it with one with the exact same cover art and useless back blurb). I haven't stopped loving it since (and I still have my dad's paperback).
The story is full of twists and turns with aliens both fantastic and believable. The characters aren't super deep in my opinion but they strike a chord nonetheless. The narrator keeps a good pace and does subtle differences between voices without anything sounding forced. For a story with military so central, the narrator was perfect in both voice and reading style.

A tragedy of mental illness.

a really tragic story. the narrator is sometimes flat, but I found her reading of Andrea Yates' tortured words in the hospital before and the jail after she murdered her children to be moving.

Historia
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

An absolutely delightful rendition
Revisado: 01-25-22
One of my favorite memories of childhood is my father reading The Hobbit to my brother and me. He did all the voices and the wonderful songs... and Andy made me smile from the moment he began, rekindling all those happy memories. This is a wonderful tale read by a fabulous actor! I cannot recommend it enough.

A fantastic classic well read and performed

I have loved this book for many years and it was lovely to hear it read to me. The narrator is very good and does do distinct voices to help separate the characters. My only critique is that sometimes the voice is a little hard to understand
