Entertaining, action packed and suspenseful

I am all about a megalodon book! All rogue shark and megladon books seem to follow the same formula- on a boat in the ocean for whatever reason, destruction ensues, people realize it's a shark/megalodon, suspense as they try to survive, rescue attempts fail, then they have a hail-mary throw at a rescue and at least a few of the characters live to tell the tale. What seems to keep megladon books few and far between is the focus on how a megalodon came to be in our time and space isnhard to explain and most authors don't want to tackle it.

This book follows the formula-but what I loved about it was it had nonstop action, suspense, some nice character development and I didn't know what was coming next or how they were going to survive this. What made it unique is that it didn't get hung up on the backstory of the megalodon. It just focused on the fact that the megalodon was there wreaking havoc. That was refreshing and made for a fun, short listen packed with all the good stuff and none of the explanation, which is good in some books, but wasn't needed here. I recommend giving this one a try-you won't regret it!

narrator made it hard to listen to with his mistakes

While the story was generally good , suspenseful and exciting with some good plot twists, the narrator'w mispronunciations made it hard to listen to. We all know this book is about a Megalodon - no spoiler there- but how in the world did the author and editors let the audiobook be released where the narrator mispronounced the word Megalodon, which is mentioned hundreds of times throughout the book??!!! it's astounding how they let this slide, but they did, Shame on the narrator, the editor and author for not catching this and fixing it. I am not sure if I will listen to th authors other books- depends on the narrator - but if Its about the sea, I will just re- listen to the Steve Allen Meg series.

really tried to love it

I was very excited for this book but there was so much detail iinto the politics of herpatology at the time and so little interesting personal infor.ation and biological information on the dnakes that it just couldn't hold my interest.

this should have been marketed as a Christian book

I bought this because I greatly enjoyed her other book Do It Scared. I had no idea what was in store with this book. For a non Christian, it was hard to struggle through the almost constant Bible verses , religious quotes, discussions of daily prayer, and mentions of Jesus. When I could make it past that, the information was good and I did pick up a few things . I would only buy this book if you consider yourself a "Christian" or feel.inspited by the Bible.

Enjoyed it but wanted a stronger female character

I love K-9 mysteries and the strong female characters that come with them. I generally liked the story and the mystery, but I am in agreement with others who found that the story disintegrated onto romance and at those times, our heroine was portrayed as weak and fragile, despite being a kick a$$ FBI agent. Even with that, I enjoyed the book and I will be listening to more by this author. Hopefully Agent Dean gets stronger with each story!

great book. The the narrator kept mispronounced names and places, which annoyed me at first, but once I got past that it was a great book, as have all the others in the series been so far.

poor narrator but very interesting story

I have great respect for the l author through my work as a child abuse physician, so I was interested to see what his fiction working was like, and it didn't disappoint. very interesting story line that one could see playing out in real life. kept me interesting in both the plot twists and the personal loves of the characters throughout. the only frustrating part was the poor narrator. his speech was so stilted, it was hard to believe he was actually a trauma surgoen.... other than that, great listen.

I was not expecting all the plot twists and turns. I stayed interested the entire time, which is unusual for crime books these days. o look forward to more from this author!

Loved it!!!!

I was looking for a murder-mystery and just finished Dust by Patricia Cornwell. All the mysteries suggested to me seemed to pale in comparison to that book until I came across Muzzled! It completely different.
It has an interesting plot but doesn't take itself seriously. You really feel for our protagonist, and as an animal lover, I loved the descriptions of her interactions with her clients just as much as I loved the murder- mystery aspect.
This was a fantastic surprise and I have already downloaded her second book to listen too. The narration was also great. A must for any animal lover who also loves a good mystery!
