Historia
Orris Spencer is an abomination. At least that was what his father said in 1886 before banishing him from their Fifth Avenue mansion and sending him across the continent to Oregon. Now Orris must try to find a place for himself on his brother’s farm. His studies did little to prepare him for pioneer living, and when he’s called on to help protect the livestock from a predator, he’s not at all certain he’s up to the task. Then he meets Henry Bonn, a strange and intriguing man who lives in a cabin in the hills.

Choices we make
Revisado: 06-16-20
Orris is searching for his place in his new home. He's been sent to live with his brother Samuel and Samuel's family. His brother lives on a ranch in Oregon and life can be harsh and Orris has yet to adjust. There have been attacks on livestock and Samuel has Orris guarding the sheep against whatever is killing them. When Orris has a close encounter with two wolves that leave him feeling both fearful and excited he has to decide if they are his enemy or if he wants to protect them against his better judgment.
I really liked this story. The characters are well crafted and you can feel their struggle as they question decisions they have to make and where those decisions might eventually take them. I really respected Samuel and his staunch support of his brother. He never wavered in his devotion and unequivocal acceptance of his brother. He opened his home and helped Orris bridge the gulf between the world he had known and the one that waited for him.
I don't want to give to much information to avoid possible spoilers but I enjoyed this audiobook. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys a paranormal mystery with plenty of plot and great character development.
This is the first audiobook I've heard narrated by Nick J. Russo but I think he did an amazing job.

This is a lovely story about fated mates. I enjoyed getting to know these men and seeing how they finally realize that they are meant for each other. The story has a sweet relaxed feel but there is also the rush of fiery passion and shared pleasure.
Kasia Bacon has written another wonderful little gem that fills your head with numerous possibilities but also leaves room for your own imagination to take shape. I love these stories and I look forward to seeing more from this author and this enchanting world she has created.
Michael Fox did an excellent job as narrator and is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Joseph Moore, choir director for the First Baptist Church of Lenora, Nebraska, has secrets of his own. Terrible, lonely secrets. One that involves natural human desire. One that calls forth powers he cannot begin to understand. Both with the potential to destroy him and those he loves. Now the world is changing. The darkness, the shadows, the ghosts, are closing in — and Joseph and his lover, Kevin, are being stalked by a merciless demon, hell-bent on possession.

Revisado: 05-26-20
Anyone would say Joseph's life seemed pretty normal from the outside. He had went to college to study music and then got a job as a choir director but when his brother left home Joseph returned to the farm and small town life to help his father. He got the job as choir director at his hometown church but this really wasn't the life Joseph wanted.
The truth is Joseph sees ghosts and he has since he was a boy. He's never told anyone but that doesn't stop it from being true. When things start looking darker and Joseph's visions get worse he is warned of a danger coming for him and asked to help protect the living and the ghosts that walk the earth.
This book was darker than I was expecting. It focused on situations that are happening in the world and there are some subject matter discussed that could be triggers for some people. Not everyone gets a happy ending so be warned.
I think a lot of people would enjoy the supernatural nature of the story and the characters that pull you along on their journey. I've never listened to this narrator before but I think he did a good job and I didn't have any trouble following the story or telling the characters apart.

Historia
Black clouds of xenophobia gather over Radvadur, the western province of the Empire. The political climate is strained and fragile. A surge of Nymph refugees has stirred widespread hostility towards non-humans. When the investigation of a gruesome triple murder linked to the refugee camp ensues, it takes Inspector Käyru Skaer and his lover, Count Ellydhar Finn-Jánn, along an unusual path, at the end of which a precious gift awaits. Käyru and Elly are worlds apart in social standing, but they have found common ground in the bedroom - up against the wall and the stable doors, too.

Revisado: 03-22-20
Kayru and Elly grew up in two very different worlds. Kayru clawing for every scrape and Elly the future Count of Radvadur. Kayru is now an inspector but that doesn't put him on the same level as Elly. How can these two men ever hope to be more than occasional lovers.
Kayru and Elly had so much going against them. Social standing, the fear they both had of voicing their feelings and Elly's health and it all works to keep these men from making their relationship something permanent. Maybe Kayru's next case will help him in ways he never even knew he needed.
I really enjoyed listening to this book. Kayru showed his love so clearly in his actions and Elly was such a gentle soul who welcomed Kayru every time they came together. I couldn't help rooting for them and hoping their story had a happy ending. The side characters played important roles in how this story played out and I was invested in their story as well. This was a wonderful book that drew me in and I highly recommend it.
I also loved Michael Fox's narration of this audiobook. His voices helped bring these characters to life.

Interesting Stories
Revisado: 02-23-20
I haven't read or listened to anything by this author before but I really enjoyed listening to these audiobooks. This is the bundle with books 7-9 and while I haven't heard the books from the previous bundles I was still able to understand what was going on and enjoy these couples journeys to their HEA.
Basically these books are about a group of humans who have birthmarks that mark them as Chosen. This means they are possible mates to shifters and are to be protected and cherished. The problem is that a group of shifters have started kidnapping the Chosen and are selling them to the highest bidders. There are also shifters who are trying to recover the people who have been kidnapped and stop the whole auction/kidnapping group completely. Some of the Chosen happen to be mates with some of the rescuers and that's the premise for these books.
I plan to go back and listen to the previous books. This series and the characters were interesting and I'd like to know what happened with the other stories but again not knowing didn't hinder my enjoyment of these audiobooks. I recommend these books to anyone who enjoys a mostly angst free story. The mcs are well developed and even though these are shorter stories I felt I got to know these wonderful men and that their stories are complete. The secondary characters from what must be previous books help continue the main storyline and honestly piqued my curiosity to hear what their stories were. Highly recommended.

Perfect fit
Revisado: 02-06-20
I really enjoyed this audiobook. In the previous book Calen didn't seem like he took things seriously or that he might be flighty or undependable. That wasn't the case in this book and for that I'm really grateful. I think some of the concerns Calen carried around may have affected how he was behaving and I liked how those worries were handled.
I think Brent needed someone exactly like Calen to really get all the parts of Brent. Someone else wouldn't have offered Brent everything that Calen did and it gave them both exactly what that both needed in a partner. Their story was the right amount of friends to lovers sweet meets hot sexy Dom/submissive.
I liked that we got a chance to visit some of Brent's brothers and see how they're doing. I look forward to the next book and highly recommend this series.

Garrett was at his breaking point. There were only so many times in a week you should have to see someone you were...attracted to...infatuated with...but certainly didn’t have a crush on. Doms didn’t have those. Especially on a customer who probably wasn’t even gay, much less a sub. Business 101 - do not flirt with a client. Wyatt was losing his mind. Hiding his obsession was getting harder and harder. All he wanted to do was kneel in front of Garrett and call him Master. But the sexy insurance agent never seemed to see him.

Getting What You Need
Revisado: 02-01-20
This is a sweet story about Garrett and Wyatt. Garrett helps run an insurance agency with his brothers and Wyatt is one of their clients. Wyatt has been coming in and asking questions about his policy and paying for his coverage several times a month. Everyone is starting to wonder what's going on because making that many trips to see your insurance agent isn't the norm.
When Wyatt visits Garrett to get coverage for his new business venture Garrett gets some new information that could change everything. What happens when these two finally get their wires uncrossed.
I really liked this story. Garrett and Wyatt are really sweet with each other but I also liked the desire and heat that they had together. They like to push each other's buttons and they both enjoy the play. I liked Garrett's family and Wyatt's friend Carter and I'm looking forward to continuing this series to see more from these guys.
I really enjoyed Kenneth Obi's narration of this audiobook. It was easy to listen too and I really liked the voices he gave to these men.

Daddy Brendan finds his boy
Revisado: 01-26-20
If you've listened to Firm Hand then you've heard a bit about Brendan and Raf. Raf is Rhys' best friend and this is the story of how Raf and Daddy Brendan meet.
Raf has ADHD and it makes his life more difficult and stressful. He needs someone to understand his needs and sees beyond his quirks to the beautiful person who has so much love to give. When Brendan happens to overhear Raf and Rhys talking in a club about Raf looking for a kink that clicks with his personality Brendan thinks he might have found the person he's been looking for too.
I loved this story. Raf is so beautiful and heart achingly honest with his acceptance of what brings peace to his chaotic mind and life. He embraces everything that Brendan offers him with such trust and love and he doesn't let the fear of the unknown or what other's opinions might be stop him as the most important people in his life only want what makes Raf happy.
Brendan shelters Raf from all the outside influences that cause so much stress in an already overstimulated life. I loved how Brendan could look at Raf's struggles and see only a beautiful boy who he could nurture that also brought so much joy into his own life.
I loved the narration and I think that Kenneth Obi did a wonderful job.
I highly recommend this audiobook and honestly this whole series.

Healing Touch
Revisado: 01-23-20
This story is about Cornell an older submissive and Rhys his best friend's son. Cornell is injured badly in a car wreck that also took the life of Rhys' father. Rhys brings Cornell into his home to give him time to heal and to help with his physical therapy. Rhys slowly shows Cornell that he can recover from everything that he's lost and that not all doors are closed to him.
I really liked this book. I think Rhys stood out the most to me. His attitude throughout the story showed a maturity and level headedness that made it easy to believe that he could be the dominant partner for an older submissive. I also liked that even though he had wanted Cornell for years (Cornell didn't know) he took Cornell's past as part of what made him the man Rhys admired and cared deeply for and not something that should come between them.
I also liked that Rhys didn't rush into anything they did together. As a Dom his first thought was always about his submissive and his needs and making sure that whatever happened between them meant something good for them both. I also liked how Rhys handled a delicate situation with his mother that again showed a maturity far beyond his years.
I also loved the narration for this book. Kenneth Obi did such a wonderful job that I had no trouble telling who was speaking at any time. It made it so easy to sink into the story and just enjoy.
I highly recommend this audiobook.

Revisado: 12-31-19
This is a look into the lives of Captain Toryn Torhdhar and his Orderly Saebastyn Hyago. They have been together for years but not in the way that Saebastyn dreams of, that he aches for so desperately. Will tonight, the Night of Winter Lights bring to light all the secrets locked away in the hearts of both these men.
I loved this book and the two mcs. I am constantly amazed at how much emotion and detail this author can pack into her stories. They make you yearn to know more about them and this wonderful world she has created. Highly recommended.
I also would be remiss if I didn't say what an amazing job Michael Fox did with the narration of this audiobook.
