These never disappoint!

I have nothing to add. This series has been one hit after another for me and just gets everything...right. What I want say that the author taking a step back to revise is incredibly admirable. Wish more writers were able to do that nowadays.

A fantastic continuation!

I loved everything about this as a sequel. The way stakes were set, how the NPCs nearly stole the show and pulled at my heartstrings. It makes the fact that there isn't a third book yet almost criminal. Absolutely needed.

And that's another excellent entry into this series. Even more world building ans connections to the previous books has me itching to see where this is headed. I can't wait for the next book and to see what monster girl gets center stage.

This book was such a drag.. So much talking with not much really being said. More backstory than anything and it wasn't even really interesting backstory.

I have to agree with reviews warning not waste your time on this book. It's like ideas were just thrown together for this mess of a final stroy. OSC literally admits he had a plan with the origin of the virus(that sounded much more interesting), but threw it out for the lackluster final product we got in the book. What he did comes off as a last minute idea and the mystery behind the virus is shifted from "where did it come from" to "how did it become what it is" then solved with little to no fanfare. The birds and engineers and folk feel so shoehorned in to this it's jarring.

I'll give OSC credit where credit is due; he still knows how to make entirely unlikable characters. Only this time it's, like, 90ish% of the characters.

Loved this one like the previous ones. Only gripe is with Broccoli acting like she'd known about her friend's attraction to her when she'd never shown any hint of that unless seriously I missed something. Since the whole story is from her point of view the reader should have been aware she knew waaay before. I'm just glad they got passed that bit quickly.

Absolutely loved this book. Narration was great. My only complaint about this book is that the opening section in the abandoned town drags on for waaaaaay too long. Everything after that was so much fun.
