Historia
In Thorne Manor there is one locked door. Behind it lies a portal to the 21st century, and nothing is going to stop Miranda Hastings from stepping through. After all, she is a Victorian writer of risqué pirate adventures—traveling to the future would be the greatest adventure of them all. When Miranda goes through, though, she lands in Georgian England...and in the path of Nicolas Dupuis, a privateer accused of piracy.

Fun and entertaining
Revisado: 07-19-24
Fun story but at times rushed storyline between main characters, and simplistic. Easy read “she’s a thing woman, and I’m a young woman…” line was odd second part should’ve been “stranger”

Thorne Manor has always been haunted...and it has always haunted Bronwyn Dale. After a family tragedy, the house was shuttered and Bronwyn was convinced that William existed only in her imagination. Now, 20 years later Bronwyn inherits Thorne Manor. And when she returns, William is waiting.

Incomplete ending
Revisado: 11-10-21
I’ve enjoyed the series and stories of the characters, but there’s a lot left hanging for several of the characters ( main and supporting) Perhaps another title will be forthcoming in the series? It would be nice to see what happens/becomes of Dora, Fran, Jake, Mavis, Ruth, Mercy, Luke and Marigold and all the kids etc.! there’s a LOT of loose ends! It feels like the story ended in the middle especially since new characters are introduced at the end of the book- Frustrating not nice to the reader especially without any epilogue from the author…. Please tell the rest of the story

Historia
It began nearly 400 years ago. The Conall clan and all their people were murdered in a surprise attack, their beloved castle and all evidence of who destroyed them burned to the ground with their bodies. In the centuries following, archaeologists searched through the ruins looking for any evidence of what or who had caused the untimely demise of such a powerful Scottish clan. All efforts were fruitless until a spell put in place by an ancient Conall ancestor finally began to work its magic.

Overall fun and entertaining story

The recording download had an echo that became increasingly apparent in the playback of any reading speed greater than 1x ☹️ correlated with reading speed. I enjoyed being read to while listening and it’s nice being able to follow along, but the echo was hard to ignore 😤😩 The performance could have been better. Fun story, but it was not very believable the 1645 characters of the story took Bri's accounting of circumstances so readily... In the last chapters Bri really doesn't help them much towards solving the problem/ mystery of who might be planning to harm them! More sleuthing needed on the MC part to keep it more interesting! Why does she have to be a KINDERGARTEN teacher why not a history teacher or something that would have been more helpful of older kids, or historian or something other than a kindergarten teacher.. MC would have been better if as a deeper more well rounded character. She was like a fish out of water and difficult to see how people so culturally, and ideologically different and other might have a deeper more meaningful relationship. Nonetheless overall it was fun with a couple crazy/ ridiculous points in the story...

Diana Gabaldon’s magnificent historical saga, begun with Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber, continues with this New York Times bestseller. Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first.
