Historia
Part epic of Texas, part classic coming-of-age story, part unflinching examination of the bloody price of power, The Son is a gripping and utterly transporting novel that maps the legacy of violence in the American west with rare emotional acuity, even as it presents an intimate portrait of one family across two centuries. Eli McCullough is just twelve-years-old when a marauding band of Comanche storm his Texas homestead and brutally murder his mother and sister, taking him as a captive.

Historia
Are leaders born or made? Where does ambition come from? How does adversity affect the growth of leadership? Does the man make the times or do the times make the man? In Leadership, Goodwin draws upon four of the presidents she has studied most closely - Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Lyndon B. Johnson (in civil rights) - to show how they first recognized leadership qualities within themselves, and were recognized by others as leaders.

Historia
Abraham Lincoln was one of America's greatest public orators. The cadence, argument and power he brought to his speeches, like those of the Gettysburg address almost every American learns in school, still stir the hearts of not only Americans, but countless millions around the world. This series of 24 lectures examines Lincoln's rhetoric - the public messages in which he evolved his views on slavery and the preservation of the Union and by which he sought to persuade others.

Historia
Between 1937 and 1945, approximately 55 million people perished in the series of interrelated conflicts known as the Second World War. No continent was left untouched, no ocean unaffected. The war led to the eclipse of Europe and the emergence of the United States and the Soviet Union as global superpowers; ushered in the atomic age; produced, in the Holocaust, the most horrific crime ever committed in the history of Western civilization, and led to the end of Europe's colonial empires around the world.

If there was a 6th star, I would give it 6 stars
Revisado: 05-19-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Bottom line. I love these book and I love this series. McMurty has such a great way to develop each character. I would recommend this book and when it is done, I will be sad that it is over.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the characters. From the young bull to the blue pigs from the to the lonely Irishmen to Wilbur and of course the regular cast of characters. I love how Gus makes me laugh and how Woodrow makes me think. This book is loaded with all of these different personalities. Even the animals in the story have interesting personalities
Which scene was your favorite?
The cattle drive. I just imagine how it would have been to part of a drive of 2500
Any additional comments?
The reader was good but Will Patton would have been better
