Historia
Deborah Harkness first introduced the world to Diana Bishop, an Oxford scholar and witch, and vampire geneticist Matthew de Clermont in A Discovery of Witches. Drawn to each other despite long-standing taboos, these two otherworldly beings found themselves at the center of a battle for a lost, enchanted manuscript known as Ashmole 782. Since then, they have fallen in love, traveled to Elizabethan England, dissolved the Covenant between the three species, and awoken the dark powers within Diana’s family line.

Love the complicated storyline, inventiveness of the author, all the characters
Revisado: 02-11-25
I have loved every book read by Jennifer Ikeda, and I’ve listened to them multiple times.
Times Convert read by Saskia Maarleveld was a great story, but I’ll read it on Kindle. Sorry Saskia, but you just don’t have the talent for this book. Not like Jennifer Ikeda.
And I have to say this series has spoiled me. It’s been impossible to find anything nearly as good as this series. It seems like there could be many more books in this series, and I pray that Deborah Harkness continues to write them.

And when Annie reveals that her sister drowned in unexplained circumstances in 1974, Henrietta’s methodical mind can’t help following the story’s loose ends…

Seeing the way the forces and experiences in our lives shape our character
Revisado: 07-10-23
I work with cancer patients, so this book really touched home for me in many ways with the attitudes and defense mechanisms of all the characters being so well written. Henrietta is so real to me, and Annie too.
I loved the way the book progresses revealing layer after layer of the complexities of the characters and their lives.
I will remember the beautifully written final moments of Annie. That was so real, and I imagine some of my patients going through that. If I’m lucky, I will remember it in my final moments
