Historia
Noah Ramirez thinks he’s an expert on romance. He has to be for his popular blog, the Meet Cute Diary, a collection of trans happily ever afters. There’s just one problem - all the stories are fake. What started as the fantasies of a trans boy afraid to step out of the closet has grown into a beacon of hope for trans listeners across the globe.

Bratty and delusional, not cute
Revisado: 09-26-22
After reading the excellent Café Con Lychee, I was excited to listen to an audiobook by the same author about a trans character, but I wasn't even able to finish. I found myself thinking "this guy needs an attitude adjustment, not an epic love story", and that's never a good thing. Also, the performer does something weird with their voice which makes the book difficult to listen to. Wish this book was better, cause stories like this are needed!

Historia
Eighteen-year-olds Ruben Montez and Zach Knight are two members of the boy-band Saturday, one of the biggest acts in America. Along with their bandmates, Angel Phan and Jon Braxton, the four are teen heartbreakers in front of the cameras and best friends backstage. But privately, cracks are starting to form: their once-easy rapport is straining under the pressures of fame, and Ruben confides in Zach that he's feeling smothered by management's pressure to stay in the closet.

Promising premise, but predictable plot and uninspired writing. I am surprised that I managed to finish the book.

Fun and moving story

Absolutely love this story, although I'm not in the target group. It's a romcom and a crime mystery and a self help book rolled into one.

Historia
Toby Andrews is cooking up more than a little trouble for Evan Blankenship. Because of pranks, indiscretions, and plain bad timing, his ability to work in New York's temples of haute cuisine is a thing of the past. When Toby's sister tells him he should look up an acquaintance whose restaurant - Le Potiron - is failing, he doesn't have much choice. Pretty soon he's in bed, literally, with a cook who hates people, trying to save a restaurant that only the neighborhood mothers seem to love, and on the verge of another - possibly painful - lesson or two.

Cute romance
Revisado: 08-23-21
I really liked this story. It's not great literature, and the narrator's ridiculous voices for some of the characters are a little grating, but Toby is a lovable main character, and the ending is very satisfying.

Love the story, but the narrator's weird voices for Peter and other important characters made them seem ridiculous, but not funny.

Historia
In 16-year-old Mike Hernandez's life, only one thing is clear: Gay is not okay. His family's life revolves around the church, a church run by the vocally intolerant Pastor Myers, so Mike has resolved to spend his life in the closet. His only escape - besides the occasional, anonymous gay make-out session - is his art. He pours his complicated emotions into risque drawings he keeps in a secret sketchbook. A sketchbook he carries everywhere. When his sketchbook goes missing in the middle of Sunday school, Mike is sure his life is over.

Unconvincing
Revisado: 08-19-21
Having grown up in a fundamentalist Christian church, I loved the premise of the story, but I didn't believe in the attraction and love between narrator Mike and Chris, the sensitivity of Mike, who introduces himself as a pretty cynical and open-minded gay guy, or the point of this church that Mike's family seems to attend for no apparent reason. Oh, and the end is extremely unsatisfying if you ended up believing that this was a story of epic love.

My name is Connor Williams, and people say I’m crazy. But that’s not who I am. They also think I’m straight, mean, and dangerous. But that’s not who I am either. The stories people tell—all those legends they whisper at school—they don’t mean a thing. Only my mother and younger brother matter to me.

Now that his dad's making a comeback, Luc's back in the public eye, and one compromising photo is enough to ruin everything. To clean up his image, Luc has to find a nice normal relationship...and Oliver Blackwood is as nice and normal as they come. He's a barrister, an ethical vegetarian, and someone who has never inspired a moment of scandal in his life. He’s perfect boyfriend material.
