biggest issue I have is the narrator does nothing to differentiate between Azusa's narration and spoken dialogue which can often makes things a bit confusing.

Slow narration

Only real issue is the narrator reads a bit slow. He does a fantastic job but I've started listening at 1.20 speed just to normalize it a bit.

Rising of the Shield hero but with less slavery and more romance.

Main character is overwhelmingly a Marry Sue to the point of it being boring and the story just revolves around making the animal girls fall more and more in love with him. Narration was otherwise very good.

Lack of charm made up by fantastic world building.

Very interesting world this story takes place in with a unique blend of sci-fi and fantasy. I'm definitely interesting in the wider world. The only issue I had was all characters seem to be just played out stereotypes. The hero is heroic, wise religion elders are stubborn and abrasive, and sisters are predigy geniuses.

Took until about 2 hours in to get interested in the story but after that I was hooked.

Good as always but...

I wish I could like this series more but sometimes something happens that makes me cringe into oblivion. What was that entire bonus story? Fran is 12, the word sexy shouldn't even be in the same paragraph as Fran. Stop it.

But yea, fun story that's a nice breather compared to how intense the last two books were. Looking forward to the rest.

A bit exhausting but it ends good

Coming right off the previous book makes almost an entire book's worth of constant conflict. I admit it started getting tiring but book ended on a strong note.

That said I hope the author let's other character's shine more often. Teacher always has to steal the show in every battle these days and I'd live to see Fran get a chance to shine during battle without Teacher activity holding back.

Fun with some small issues

This series is fantastic but every now and then something small happens that is hard to look past. Like Teacher absolutely destroying enemies one moment, and the next has Fran getting horribly maimed by enemies of a similar level.

Let Fran shine more often in combat so I don't question why she's there in the first place rather then just letting teacher solo the universe.

Nice little low stakes adventure

Not a lot happens. No dramatic story events. but it is fun to see Fran becoming a bigger part of the world.
