A washed-up treasure hunter, a hotshot racer, and a deadly secret society. They're all on a race against time to hunt down the greatest warship ever built. Some think the ship is lost forever, some think it's been destroyed, and some think it's only a legend, but one thing's for certain: whoever finds it will hold the fate of the universe in their hands. And treasure that valuable can never stay hidden for long....

plot ok, narrator not great
Revisado: 05-13-22
Found the narrator very off-putting, not bad enough to dnf, but enough that I think it colored my view of the story

a bit slow story, narration hard to follow
Revisado: 05-16-18
this is a true epic fantasy, with a large cast of characters and a dense, rather slow plot. i expect it works better to read than to listen to, as the narrator doesn't distinguish between characters as well as i would prefer, and uses a variety of difficult to understand accents

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Great story, absolutely fantastic narration!
Revisado: 05-16-18
Great story, absolutely fantastic narration! I would listen to Kevin Free read my grocery list, his voice is so soothing. And he gives just the right amount of emotion to Murderbot.

Dresden Files in revolutionary Boston
Revisado: 11-13-17
Plenty of historical fiction mixed with urban fantasy. Narrator sounded too similar to James Marsters, which was weird.
