As much as I like the stories centered on the Wyr, I found that this was as enjoyable as those. This series is, after all the “Elder Races”, so it is natural that other races should have their own stories. Xavier has been mentioned several times in the other books, emphasizing how dangerous and lethal he is, we see this but we are shown a whole new side of him. After all that has happened, he still has a nobleness of character that many of the “ancient ones” have either suppressed or lost completely.
Tess? I’m still not sure how I feel about her. She shows signs of strength, and then, in the next moment, I want to slap her. She does finally grow a spine. Loved how she played the Djinns-and though I would have liked to have the story expanded, I’ll have to be content with what has been given.
Sophie Eastlake appears to have a divided appeal to many listeners, but she does do a good voice, especially with accents and male voices. I have returned several books due to the narration, but never any of hers. So she falls into the acceptable, maybe not the best, but good enough that I can listen and enjoy.
Well worth the credit and a solid 5.

Good story almost ruined by narrator

The interaction between the characters’ was well developed. It was interesting to see the family members relate to each other and their extended family. The “villains were a new twist for me, original; I’ve not seen anything like them in any of the other books I’ve “read”.
I really wanted to like this book, but the narrator was so bland it was too difficult to enjoy it. Even with that handicap, there was enough innate humor that I found myself laughing, despite the narrator. I wouldn’t put it in the same category as “Charlie Davidson”, even though the premise is the same. If there is no plan to find another narrator I wouldn’t recommend this book in audible, but the book would be worth the read.

Great Story Ruined by Narration

As usual, Ms. Sparks’ story is well written and extremely entertaining. It was good to see Gregori’s story, even though he is one of the youngest vampires. It felt like too much time was spent dealing with the buildup of the story. There was more extraneous information and dialogue that didn’t further the plot or was pertinent to the story.
Now for the con: It’s so discouraging when such popular authors are assigned untalented narrators. A person who doesn’t have a talent for accents, should not be assigned a book with so many accents. Poor Roman sounded like he was either about to fall asleep or high on something, which could explain his constant changing accent.

Another Great GhostWalker Instalment

Christine Feehan’s GhostWalker series is, for me, an instant download. Peter Whitney’s machinations are still being played out, only now it’s with Wyatt’s group Team 4, the Air Force team. We get to see Nonny again. I love her, nothing fazes her, and she has genuine love for each of them. I especially loved her telling Wyatt how she had to “snap” her tea towel to disciple one of the Fortune brothers. Pepper states that there are five more women in her group, which, hopefully, means at least five more books in the series. There is slight background for each of the team members, which is sufficient for this telling, as it’s about Wyatt.
Tom Stechschulte, of course, does his usual excellent narration.

Would you try another book from Lynsay Sands and/or Victoria McGee?

Either You should refund all of Victoria McGee's books, or offer a new narrator for free.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I tried to just skip through the book so I could get the jest of the story, but that was even too Torturous.
