Historia
When the enslaved Jim overhears that he is about to be sold to a man in New Orleans, separated from his wife and daughter forever, he decides to hide on nearby Jackson Island until he can formulate a plan. Meanwhile, Huck Finn has faked his own death to escape his violent father, recently returned to town. As all readers of American literature know, thus begins the dangerous and transcendent journey by raft down the Mississippi River toward the elusive and too-often-unreliable promise of the Free States and beyond.

Excellent writing
Revisado: 02-11-25
The characters are well developed and come to life. You share their emotions and can see the cave on Jackson Island. Well worth the time to read and/or listen to.

Historia
Four years in, Stevie and Nate’s true-crime podcast, All the Gory Details, is forced onto hiatus when their conclusions in their first-ever episode, about the unsolved murder of teenager Lauren in their hometown seventeen years ago, are proven wrong. Their mistake ruined a life, and Stevie and Nate are still reeling from the consequences. Still, when a fresh murder frighteningly similar to Lauren’s is brought to their attention, Nate is adamant that they should resurrect the podcast.

Plot twist!
Revisado: 01-06-24
Just when I thought I knew how the story was going to end, the author gives a huge plot twist. The characters are alive you like them you dislike them you hold out hope for them totally worth the time and money. I love this story I would like to read more of this authors work and listen to these performers narrate other books.

Save your time
Revisado: 01-03-22
The story dragged and the characters were hardly believable or likable. I am so disappointed. The narrator was the most not good thing about this book.
