Historia
Food. There's plenty of it around, and we all love to eat it. So why should anyone need to defend it? Because in the so-called Western diet, food has been replaced by nutrients, and common sense by confusion—most of what we’re consuming today is longer the product of nature but of food science. The result is what Michael Pollan calls the American Paradox: The more we worry about nutrition, the less healthy we see to become.

Great information!
Revisado: 05-06-13
Would you listen to In Defense of Food again? Why?
Good info, good ideas, great research. Pollan is brilliant.
What three words best describe Scott Brick’s voice?
The narrator read this like it was a novel of some sort. He sounded sarcastic and trite at times.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No

Boring and slow
Revisado: 05-06-13
What disappointed you about The Fallen Angel?
I remember the first Allon book and enjoyed many in the series. The story had promises, but it was just slow for me. Maybe I'm loosing interest I these types of books, but the action was almost non existent and I couldn't even make it to the end.
Has The Fallen Angel turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Yes - dull. He sounded like an 80 year old trying to be 40.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
None

Once presided over by a flamboyant Hollywood mogul during the Roaring ’20s, the magnificent West Coast property known as Roseland is now home to a reclusive billionaire financier and his faithful servants. In the wake of Odd’s most recent clash with lethal adversaries, the opulent manor’s comforts should be welcome. But there’s far more to Roseland than meets even the extraordinary eye of Odd, who soon suspects it may be more hell than haven.

I couldn't even finish
Revisado: 05-06-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I'm sorry. I really like Koontz, and I typically love the Odd series. But this one just bored me. I couldn't get through it. This one was a fail for me.

God help me - it's SLOW
Revisado: 09-01-10
From the write up and reviews, I thought I stumbled onto something pretty interesting. 3 hours into it, I realized I was wrong. If your idea of a good book/story is one of boredom - then this may be for you. If you want the least bit of excitement, anything remotely interesting, or something that keeps you listening for hours on end - go somewhere else. The narrator is slow and I feel as though I'm being fed cough-syrup!

Rational Right
Revisado: 10-09-06
Danforth is not only a Republican, but a priest at that. But his views are refreshing as he discusses the extremism and religious control over our Republican party and how they have stepped over the line. Citing several different cases and events from recent news, he shows good examples to support his theories. Although Danforth speaks slowly and is monotone virtually the entire book, his thoughts are refreshing and keeps you interested. It's good to hear someone from the Right question their current party's motives.
