Narrator good but horrible background noise

The narrator was really good. Unfortunately I kept hearing this deep bass wind noise. noise that would hurt my ears all throughout the book. The story itself is great. I couldn’t finish this one.  I had to go buy a good recorded. Copy to finish it out.

Weird lispy narrator

Disliked that multiple words the narrator had a hard time pronouncing properly, like ask and many S words.  I don’t know if it’s a lisp or if they’re just not pronouncing the entire word, but it sounds like a partial lisp and it’s really annoying that a professional narrator has it. However, I’m not sure if it’s a lisp because other S words are just fine. Maybe she just doesn’t know how to pronounce ask or some other words similar and sound another reviewer also said similar I’m hoping that it improves in the next books.

I just cannot get over how talented Robert Galbraith(jk) is. To me, this is what authors are supposed to do . start off with an idea and characters and build those characters and shape them over time. RG continues to get better and better with story building. Guys if you were like me, and either grew up around forced religion or have an aversion to the cult subject don’t shy away from listening to the book. I thought I would have a really hard time listening to it because I just loathe anything about politics or religion, Because of my extremely conservative but sometimes hypocritical family. However, because I love strike and Robin, I just had to see what it was all about I could not pass it up, and once I started listening, I was intrigued, and I just had to get to the end so I could find out what happened. As is typical of this author, the story is not only about the one subject, or the one case. There’s always other smaller cases other characters, and personal character lives being brought in. I’m not gonna give any spoilers, but I will say that I loved seeing more of Pat’s character and her life and more of shanker. I am a little frustrated that Robin remains so ridiculously careless at times. However , i think that is just going to be how she is. I just wish she’d be that woman who stops and thinks about her actions and consequences of them rather than always being that person who reacts without thought. I want her to grow as a stronger smarter character and learn from her recklessness not continue to make poor choices. Too many weak minded women in books already and i want to see her finally give no more F’s about her moms opinions and her BF or friend’s opinions . But i still love her 😀 she is getting there.

I enjoy all of the colorful funny characters of these books and love the New Orleans feel. The narrator is easy to listen to.

If only this strong woman stayed that way

Loved the first book but into the second book it appeared she suddenly became a pushover that allowed blatant sexual harassment and discrimination. Sickening. Redeems herself but wasn’t in the original ball busting character to allow it to go on for so long. Wanted to give 4.5 but didn’t allow. Still a good read but dang why write her as a pushover after establishing her as a strong capable female. I do suggest this series still hoping she remains strong in next 3. Great performance by narrator.

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS

I loved the characters - i loved that this main chick wasn’t some fictional barbie doll who claimed she can eat whatever and never gain weight 🙄Great story and yes of course it was mostly not realistic but DUHHH people thats why its called fiction. If you want real life - go grab you a true crime novel or a biography. This was good old fashion fiction mystery and i loved it all. I really hope to see more from these characters and make this a series.

Its good but i hope this “mother” thing goes away

The way i keep having to hear “mother” over and over and over kinda reminds me of Psycho like maybe “mother” is gonna end up being dead fir 20 years in a rocking chair. Its just weird. Like why not my mom or something. No but really i enjoyed the story and loved the characters. I just really really got annoyed by that repeating annoyance but not enough to give up the series . Great performance. I was surprised as i thought the narrator may be amateur. But she was really great.

A great read

If you enjoy fantasy and tiny bit magic this is for you. Great character. Flowed nicely. The female narrator was great but didn’t care for the male voice for grim but wasn’t terrible. Enjoyed the easy flow of the authors writing style. I will read the others in the series.

Ny gawd audible i couldnt even getcthro this narrator for free. I made it exactly 3 mins. It reminded me of the monotone computer recordings for my work he trainings. To bad cause i wonder if book was good.
