Historia
Leaving one widow behind is unfortunate. Leaving three widows behind is just plain despicable. Oil heiress Kate Steele knew her not-so-dearly departed husband was a con man, but she's shocked that Conrad racked up two more wives without divorcing her first. The only remnant of their miserable marriage she plans to keep is their lakeside cabin in Bootleg, Texas. Unfortunately, she's not the only woman with that idea.

Meh...
Revisado: 09-09-17
Not much romance, not much mystery... a fairly pedantic story told at a glacial pace.

Historia
Most of us know we own too much stuff. We feel the weight and burden of our clutter, and we tire of cleaning and managing and organizing. While excess consumption leads to bigger houses, faster cars, fancier technology, and cluttered homes, it never brings happiness. Rather, it results in a desire for more. It redirects our greatest passions to things that can never fulfill, and it distracts us from the very lives we wish we were living. But it doesn't have to be this way.

Lots of what not much how
Revisado: 10-14-16
Hundreds of great reasons to downsize, not much concrete advice on how to accomplish that. Maybe it is just as simple as "get rid of excess stuff." But if we knew how to do that we wouldn't be reading this book.

Historia
Ellen O’Farrell is a professional hypnotherapist who works out of the eccentric beachfront home she inherited from her grandparents. It’s a nice life, except for her tumultuous relationship history. She’s stoic about it, but at this point, Ellen wouldn’t mind a lasting one. When she meets Patrick, she’s optimistic. He’s attractive, single, employed, and best of all, he seems to like her back. Then comes that dreaded moment: He thinks they should have a talk. Braced for the worst, Ellen is pleasantly surprised.

My favorite Liane Moriarty book

Loved this one. Great characters and plotting. An entertaining read that stays with you. Even when the characters make terrible decisions you understand why and have empathy for them.

Wandering plot, no heroes
Revisado: 10-14-16
Story meandered all over the place, not one likeable character. If you're gonna try to write "quirky", you need to give us at least ONE character worth caring about.

Good story...by the end
Revisado: 10-14-16
Last couple of chapters were good. First half of the book dragged as protagonist wallowed in his misery. Yeah, we get it... His wife is gone and so is he. Didn't need to take so many pages to make that point.

Much better than expected!!
Revisado: 01-04-15
This is one where you need to seriously suspend disbelief--and the story could have gotten beyond ridiculous. But: the characters are so richly drawn and the writing is so good that you happily accept the man in a dog's body and can't wait to see how the plot develops. Yes, it's chick-lit, but with strong, smart women you can root for and men who are more than cardboard cut outs. Recommend!
