Historia
Today, we are becoming more like the spiritual climate in the first century than like 1950 America. In a pluralistic, syncretistic society where all deities are considered equal, only the unequal display of Jesus’ power will convince people of the supremacy of Christ. This book takes an in-depth look at how we can grow in identity, intimacy, and faith so that we can develop our authority and release the kingdom.

Excellent Call to the Church
Revisado: 08-06-24
This book was excellent, honest and personal, with a vision for any Christian seeking to grow in the important spiritual authority that Moses and Jesus walked in.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

Awesome, insightful book
Revisado: 06-13-21
This is a great book for any christian to read. It's even helpful I'd think for anyone trying to imagine why some gay Christians are so self-repressive. Beautiful, hopeful, raw, and inspiring.

Historia
To the observer, Jason, a campus minister, active church member, and father with a young family, might not have seemed lonely. But it's how he felt. He has wrestled with loneliness ever since he can remember, perhaps before he can remember...through childhood, college, and into adulthood. When Friar Ugo challenged him to see loneliness as a context for friendship with God, things began to change.

Beautiful book

I loved the way he weaved scripture and his own and other's stories into this narrative to give us a better, bigger, more open-to-being-lonely view of ourselves and our God.

Historia
With the troubling and painful events of the last several years - from the shooting of numerous unarmed black men at the hands of police to the rallying of white supremacists in Charlottesville - it is clearer than ever that the reconciliation paradigm, long favored by white Christians, has failed to heal the deep racial wounds in the church and American society. In this provocative audiobook, originally published in 2014, Jennifer Harvey argues for a radical shift away from the well-meaning but feeble longing for reconciliation toward a robustly biblical call for reparations.

Good book!
Revisado: 05-01-21
Really interesting concepts that were liberating in hopefulness, while being sobering simultaneously. Her critique of white Christianity and (in my case, our) attempts to live with non-white Christians and others and become reconciled with them seemed honest, while she called us in a direction that would hopefully lead us higher.
