Historia
From 1914 to 1916, Ernest Shackleton and his men survived the wreck of their ship Endurance, crushed in the Antarctic ice, stranded 1,200 miles from civilization with no means of communication and no hope for rescue. When the ice began to break up, Shackleton set out to save them all on his heroic 800-mile-trip across the frigid South Atlantic, in little more than a rowboat.

Wonderful, Practical, & Thought Provoking
Revisado: 03-04-21
Absolutely loved this book and the practices it goes over are perfectly explained so that anyone can utilize if they wanted. As someone familiar with some of the concepts, it was inspiring and enlightening to hear them all explained further and new ideas presented that I’d not previously been introduced to. I look forward to buying the book and reading it again so I can make notes in the margins and highlight!

Historia
At the end of 2008, Ford Motor Company was just months away from running out of cash. With the auto industry careening toward ruin, Congress offered all three Detroit automakers a bailout. General Motors and Chrysler grabbed the taxpayer lifeline, but Ford decided to save itself. Under the leadership of charismatic CEO Alan Mulally, Ford had already put together a bold plan to unify its divided global operations, transform its lackluster product lineup, and overcome a dysfunctional culture of infighting, backstabbing, and excuses.

A slow start but more than worth it!
Revisado: 07-22-20
The beginning groundwork for this book is necessary but could take a little patience to get past, once you do, you’ll be so glad you held on for this amazing book. Enjoyed learning about the history of such an prominent company but this was also a great book about leadership and make hard decisions.

Historia
We've all had experiences with two dramatically different types of leaders. The first type drain intelligence, energy, and capability from the people around them and always need to be the smartest people in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment. On the other side of the spectrum are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them.

I’ll be reading this one over and over again...
Revisado: 11-09-19
Absolutely loved this book. There were so many wonderful nuggets throughout that I know I’ll never be able to implement them all just from one read. This will be one that I return to over and over again as a check up to how I’m leading. It was a great reminder about how even when you’re doing what’s “right” for your team, it may not be what’s best.

This book is exactly what the title makes it to be, the extreme concepts of leadership all in one place. There are so many wonderful nuggets that I know I’ll need them as reminders over and over again. This is one I’ll end up buy the hard copy of as well, to reference and write notes in the margins.
