Historia
Marek and Annette, who have escaped from Poland following the pogroms against the Jews, lead a simple and happy life in France’s capital together with their two young children. Their Christian neighbor, Helena, an immigrant from Italy who dances at the Folies Bergère nightclub for a living, develops a close relationship with the couple at the center of which is a secret affair with Marek. When the Nazis enter Paris, the family’s life, as well as Helena’s, is about to change. Marek embarks on a mission to arrange for his family’s escape but soon disappears without a trace.

Really didn’t like it
Revisado: 03-13-23
The writing seems choppy. There are gaps in the story that make the book fail to flow. Also, I didn’t enjoy the reading. The actual story is interesting.
Overall, not a fan.

Historia
Recruited by the US Army and Navy from small towns and elite colleges, more than 10,000 women served as codebreakers during World War II. While their brothers and boyfriends took up arms, these women moved to Washington and learned the meticulous work of codebreaking. Their efforts shortened the war, saved countless lives, and gave them access to careers previously denied to them.

Lots of interesting information, but...

I really wanted to love this book, but it was so scattered and unorganized. It needed a really good editor to put it together better. The story jumped back and forth so much it was difficult to follow.

Historia
For the first time, Hillary Rodham Clinton reveals what she was thinking and feeling during one of the most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections in history. Now free from the constraints of running, Hillary takes you inside the intense personal experience of becoming the first woman nominated for president by a major party in an election marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, stranger-than-fiction twists, Russian interference, and an opponent who broke all the rules. This is her most personal memoir yet.

It’s ok to be outraged.
Revisado: 05-02-18
The book could have been better organized. I felt several parts were repeated. So, it seemed a bit disjointed to me.
As for content, politically, there really wasn’t anything that I didn’t already know. I did learn a bit about Hillary’s personal life. I found these parts interesting.
As far as “What Happened” I feel she missed the mark. All the events occurred, I watched them unfold. But what didn’t happen was Hillary calling people out about it. How someone so outstanding didn’t stand up in outrage still frustrates me. I understand thinking and rethinking how she should respond. However, I would have preferred that she went down swinging rather than try not to rock the boat. I’m afraid the campaign was, “We’ve got this, just don’t do anything to lose it.”
I understand that Hillary also recognizes that she could and should have spoken out more.
I am saddened that someone as talented and brilliant as Hillary still felt she needed to stifle her reactions. I am hopeful that this will be a lesson for women. It’s ok to be outraged and to let people know.
