Historia
After two grueling years on the island of Tarawa, Troost was in no hurry to return to the South Pacific until he began to feel remarkably out of place in modern America. He knew it was time to set off again for parts unknown. Here he tells the story of his time on Vanuatu, a cluster of islands where he struggles against typhoons, earthquakes, and giant centipedes but finds himself swept up in the laid-back, clothing-optional lifestyle of the islanders.

What made the experience of listening to Getting Stoned with the Savages the most enjoyable?
Tristan writes with a wit and humor unlike any other travel writer I have read. The stories are candid, funny and who knows how accurate or exaggerated they are but who cares cause you can't help but laugh out loud. The blend of personal antidote and history makes it a worth while read.

Historia
Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell returned from his star-crossed mission in Afghanistan with his bones shattered and his heart broken. So many had given their lives to save him-and he would have readily done the same for them. As he recuperated, he wondered why he and others, from America's founding to today, had been willing to sacrifice everything-including themselves-for the sake of family, nation, and freedom.

A Real Life Captain America
Revisado: 09-06-13
What made the experience of listening to Service the most enjoyable?
This book picks up where Marcus left off in Lone Servivor. Service gives more detail into certain aspects of his experiences during and after Operation Red Wing and details his return to the teams. One would expect somebody who had gone through what he did to leave the teams and try get on with his life, but not this guy. A true example of selfless sacrifice.

Historia
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

Where does American Sniper rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
All I can say is that Chris Kyle will go down as a legend in the spec ops community for generations to come. A no holds barred account of life both up and down range.

Historia
At 24 years of age, U.S. Army Ranger Sean Parnell was named commander of a forty-man elite infantry platoon - a unit that came to be known as the Outlaws - and was tasked with rooting out Pakistan-based insurgents from a mountain valley along Afghanistan's eastern frontier. Parnell and his men assumed they would be facing a ragtag bunch of civilians, but in May 2006 what started out as a routine patrol through the lower mountains of the Hindu Kush became a brutal ambush.

Historia
Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive. This is the story of the only survivor of Operation Redwing, SEAL team leader Marcus Luttrell, and the extraordinary firefight that led to the largest loss of life in American Navy SEAL history.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book makes me proud to be an American. The story is told without fluff and buff, it's pure and straight from the heart. I must read/listen to anybody who wants to know what true sacrifice is all about.
