Historia
This engrossing piece of undercover reportage has been a fixture on the New York Times best seller list since its publication. With nearly a million copies in print, Nickel and Dimed is a modern classic that deftly portrays the plight of America's working-class poor.

A book for the comfortably ignorant
Revisado: 10-02-21
This is a book that, in my opinion is a great book for those who have not experienced poverty or perhaps not even had any contact at all with a person who has. Those who are blinded by their own privilege and the ‘bootstraps’ mentality that’s been ingratiated particularly in the western middle and upper class through indoctrination and the lack of visibility of the consequences of poverty starting in childhood would greatly benefit from listening to this book.

Historia
American Exceptionalism and American Innocence examines the stories we’re told that lead us to think that the U.S. is a force for good in the world, regardless of slavery, the genocide of indigenous people, and the more than a century’s worth of imperialist war that the U.S. has wrought on the planet. Roberto Sirvent and Danny Haiphong detail just what Captain America’s shield tells us about the pretensions of U.S. foreign policy, how Angelina Jolie and Bill Gates engage in humanitarian imperialism, and more.

You’re not going to like it.
Revisado: 02-26-20
And that’s exactly the point. If you start to listen to this book and you begin to feel offended by the notions put forth by these authors, then you’re in the group of people who needs to hear this message the most. If you decide that the contents of this book are too offensive to your sensibilities, I implore you to continue listening. I did not particularly enjoy this book myself. I even wanted to give up on it a few times, but I’m glad I didn’t because each time after some contemplation and a nights sleep I found myself in agreement with many of the sentiments expressed in these pages. Having said that, I’d recommend this book to anyone!

Historia
From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.

Enlightening
Revisado: 10-01-19
As someone who has listened to perhaps 120+hrs of Dr. Peterson’s lectures, interviews and speeches as well as read his other book “12 Rules for Life”, I can comfortably say this is his most enlightening, thought provoking and precise work to date. A masterpiece of Peterson’s by any metric. If you want to understand why Dr. Peterson speaks or teaches in the way he does, I’d highly recommend this book. Or if you are looking for a strongman argument in opposition to postmodern nihilism, look no further. I can’t imagine anyone not being able to get at least some sort of deeper understanding of the history of myth or belief or the attraction of people to mysticism through listening to this book. 5 stars all around.
