Historia
Anything Is Possible tells the story of the inhabitants of rural, dusty Amgash, Illinois, the hometown of Lucy Barton, a successful New York writer who finally returns, after 17 years of absence, to visit the siblings she left behind. Reverberating with the deep bonds of family and the hope that comes with reconciliation, Anything Is Possible again underscores Elizabeth Strout's place as one of America's most respected and cherished authors.

Sobbing out loud amazing
Revisado: 08-31-17
This was the most deeply moving book ivr ever read. The characters are so carefully drawn with so few words. I cried several times. I liked "my name is Lucy Barton" and
this book is so much better.

Historia
A collection of highly imaginative short pieces that speak to our times with deadly accuracy. Vintage Atwood creativity, intelligence, and humor: think Alias Grace. Margaret Atwood turns to short fiction for the first time since her 2006 collection, Moral Disorder, with nine tales of acute psychological insight and turbulent relationships bringing to mind her award-winning 1996 novel, Alias Grace.

Growing old with empathy. An extraordinary set of stories.
Having different narrators was great. The stone mattress story was brilliant.

Historia
Trying to squeeze an entire history of Chinese civilization into a brief, one volume account is a formidable task, but one that has succeeded brilliantly here. Hilda Hookham has provided us with a concise story that, while not getting too entangled with personalities and cultural issues, manages to navigate the swirling passage of events that comprise over 3,000 years of Chinese political history.

I feel like someone should stick up for this book. I found the book to be written and narrated in an engaging style. I thoroughly recommend the book as a wonderful introduction to a fascinating history. There is a lot more to learn, as the other reviewers have pointed out, but I think it would be foolhardy to rely on one source when forming a view on any topic.
