Historia
Russell Brand wants YOU to join the revolution. We all know the system isn't working. Our governments are corrupt and the opposing parties pointlessly similar. Our culture is filled with vacuity and pap, and we are told there's nothing we can do - "it's just the way things are".

I was curious at first but was blown away. The language and intonation is amazing, as are the stories. Listening to Russell is an experience on a personal level, like listening to an old friend and most engaging and entertaining. Excellent.

Historia
The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

A "realistic" scenario and shockingly real feel...
Revisado: 07-09-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend the book due to the great presentation of its content by the voice talents and the documentary style which makes the entire story feel very real indeed.
Would you be willing to try another book from Max Brooks? Why or why not?
Yes, I am interested to see his style on other subjects of fiction.
What about the narrators???s performance did you like?
Outstanding! Tone, speech style, word choice and even accent for the various characters is spot on an feels real.
If you could take any character from World War Z out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I would take all of them out for their team contribution to this book.
Any additional comments?
I would segment the stops of the audio book a little finer such that it is easier to pic up the book. Jumping by chapters is a little too wide a margin for listening in and finding where you left the book prior. The discount to this rating on the story is made because the Zombie subject has been around for a while and there may have been other ideas to create the "living dead". But, hey, I am not an author...

It's Monday. Time to hit the pause button on your personality and get ready for the next meeting because, for the next five days, we'll be speaking the language of business. And, from bloated jargon and monotonous memos to syrupy slogans and deadly dull presentations, the official language of business is bull. The second we get to work, we join the masses who trade the wit and warmth of their voices for a corporate stamp of approval and the comfort of conformity.

In the late 1990s, when Keefe was a graduate student in England, he heard stories about an eavesdropping network led by the United States that spanned the planet. The system, known as Echelon, allowed America and its allies to intercept the private phone calls and e-mails of civilians and governments around the world.

Apart from the very pleasant voice of the reader who always finds just the right intonation, this book provides the listener with very enlightening insides in the global attack on our civil liberties. It also document the limits of governmental intrusion in the internet- and communication age, as well as the absurdity of the intent by a conglomerate of the anglo-saxon world to control and manage the worlds intelligence via "remote". The book is full of intersting insides and even elaborates on the impossibility to make true sense of the unsurmountable volumes of intelligence gathered by the global Echelon network. Could the NSA have prevent 9/11, and why could it not? I would recomend this book to anyone who likes to demystify the so-called powerful institutions...

Eye-opening even for serious retail pro's
Revisado: 02-11-05
I have spend the better part of the last 15 years at the helm of companies like DELL, SEGA and Nintendo in very competitive retail/consumer environments. So, sort of, I was on the other side of the supply chain. Still, this book was enourmously interesting and should be a must-read for anyone concerned with high pressure retail-based business for it documents how and why people buy and what makes them buy. It tells you how things should be done at retail and thus helps you to find just the right approach to trigger your partners in retail. It helps you to understand their issues and enabled you to talk much more at eye-level with them for you simply understand them much better. The book also helps you to design and poistion the typical cardbord materials and displays because you will far better understand the issues at retail and what you have to do to stand out. You will then possibly avoid mistakes and consider/apply all the crucial elements of what makes people take your product off the shelve and into their hands. Also, you will be in a better position to challenge your sales teams and increase your ability to make your marketing folks think realistic, from a retail perspective to make you POS $'s work harder for you. It will also help you to be more considerate with package design in the context of presentation. Does your product truly stand out and is it presented in the right way, in the right environment and instore position? Why did our last dispenser not trigger sell-thru? All this will become much clearer to you.
Another remark would be that the speaker of this book (no wonder) is truly remarkable and enjoyable. There is always just the right tonality and pronounciation to bring across what the author had in his mind. He very much brings across the convictions.
Fantastic and truly engaging! Give this to your trade marketeers!

Incredible insides into an incredible individual!
Revisado: 05-20-04
Richard A. Clarke provided an exceptional inside into the events prior and during the day of 9/11. He demonstrated incredible dignity already at the very beginning of the hearing with an appology to the families and friends of the victims of 9/11. This I found to be a display of unsurpassed grandeur and probarbly his bravest moment in life. Most impressive was his calm and sober-voiced language which had incredible precision. He demonstrated how smart a man he truly is and how well he must have served his country. I greatly admire his honesty and courage. This is a must to listen to for anyone who want to get a feel for what had truly happened. It is also a good preparation prior to listening to his Audiobook "Against all Ememies" that takes his story even further. I listened to this Audiobook more than once and found it even more impressive then.
