as someone who can not eat fish, never really have, and cant even exist in the same room as the smell of fish without being nauseous; this is the best book i have read in a long time. i am avidly awaiting the second. Please never stop writing.

So. Many. Tropes. From. The. 90s. Xcom: Terror from the Deep did this story already. Third book in the series, way too many "returning to old ways/values" call backs dog whistles in the text and from the dialogue of monodimensional characters. DNF the series. Im a fan of the author's Battletech books but i think he let too many of his personal values leak into justifications of how the characters act and talk. Needs a modern touch this side of the century. The future tech is scifi from the 90s.

The narrator was the highlight of the book.
The military characters were so sterotyped and poorly written/researched, as to make the book unfinishable.

great production of a terrible set of books.

great narration and production. the story itself is a torture to anyone with a background in actual history and sociology. i got through three books before i just couldn't take the incongruities any more. hats off to anyone that can consume tye story with a suspension of disbelief.
