Historia
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

good way to understand outliers, engaging stories
Revisado: 03-18-21
It is important to understand outliers if you want to understand the world, because so many dynamics in our world are driven by outliers. This book helps with that and presents the main ideas in engaging stories which I have learned new interesting information from as a sice effect.

Historia
In Reinventing Discovery, Michael Nielsen argues that we are living at the dawn of the most dramatic change in science in more than 300 years. This change is being driven by powerful new cognitive tools, enabled by the internet, which are greatly accelerating scientific discovery. There are many books about how the internet is changing business or the workplace or government. But this is the first book about how the internet is transforming the nature of our collective intelligence.

good book, mostly about open and citizen science
Revisado: 02-01-21
Good book with important thoughts, but seemed like there were too many anecdotal stories at the beginning and not enough models/lessons learnt from them. Only at the end (2 last chapters) there were some more gebneralized ideas that got me thinking and showed me something more. I liked how the author describes what reaslistically needs to happen for open science to for widespread. The whole book was mostly about open science and citizen science and helped me understand these ideas better. But not much on the top od that.

Historia
For generations, we have focused on the individual drivers of success: Passion, hard work, talent, and luck. But in today’s dramatically reconfigured world, success is increasingly dependent on how we interact with others. In Give and Take, Adam Grant, an award-winning researcher and Wharton’s highest-rated professor, examines the surprising forces that shape why some people rise to the top of the success ladder while others sink to the bottom.
