Historia
In The Wind Through the Keyhole, Stephen King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother’s death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man", Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast’s most recent slaughter.

Mr. King is NOT a narrator and never should be
Revisado: 09-14-12
Although Stephen King is one of my very favorite authors, someone needs to tell him that he should never, never, NEVER narrate one of his own books again, or any written material for that matter.
I adore the Gunslinger series (this is my second time reliving it), and this story is probably very good, but after a half hour of listening to Mr. Kings monotone voice with absolutely no differentiation between any of the characters' voices or inflections, I found I had totally lost the thread of the story and basically didn't even care what it was.
Since I really want to know this story and to become as immersed in it as I have with the rest of the series, I'm going to buy the book. I prefer the audio versions as it's difficult for me to find the time to sit down and read, but I'll have to make an exception this time.

I stopped listening after about an hour
Revisado: 03-07-12
What disappointed you about Bone Gods?
The story started out promising with an interesting premise and the promise of adventure. That lasted about ten minutes. I listened for another fifty minutes or so before I admitted to myself that nothing interesting had happened since the glimmer of a good story at the beginning and there didn't appear to be anything interesting coming up any time soon. Now, I do like the occasional swearing by a character when it makes sense for her to do so, but when there is so much unnecessary swearing, it actually becomes distracting. The main character, Pete, swore so overly much that it made you wonder if the author was trying for a shock factor to cover for a boring story. It didn't work if that's what she was doing.
Would you ever listen to anything by Caitlin Kittredge again?
No. Definitely not. No.
What didn’t you like about Terry Donnelly’s performance?
Terry Donnelly really didn't have enough range for the different types of voices she needed to do. She had an interesting voice for the main character, but her male voices weren't very convincing and her carribean (?)/cajun(?) accent was terrible.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Bone Gods?
All the drivel about missing her boyfriend, Jack. I knew she was in mourning over his departure, but she carried on and on and on......
Any additional comments?
Maybe the book got more interesting as it went along, but I was too bored and too tired of the swearing and bemoaning done by the main character, that I really didn't care.

I have never heard a narrator so bored!
Revisado: 03-07-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would find someone besides M. Kramer to be the male narrator.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Michael Kramer sounded completely bored and distracted, like he had much better things to do than narrate this book and was thinking ahead to his dinner and when to do his laundry. His nasal, weary voice was very annoying. I found myself not listening to the story, but wishing he would liven up and quit sighing between sentences so much. Kate Reading was very good, but not enough of the book was narrated by her to make it enjoyable.
Any additional comments?
The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan was one of the best I'd ever read and I was looking forward to the prequel. I think the story itself is great, but it was badly narrated.
