weird attempt at christian allegory
Revisado: 01-19-22
storyline was not terrible but the premise was a stretch and the protagonist was annoying and the attempts by the author to make the reader feel for the character fell flat due to her constant whining, self centeredness and inability to have any normal interaction with any of the other characters. if the authors goal was to make the reader hate the central character, then she did a great job. The attempt to insert Christian morals and gospel was super annoying.

the whole story feels like a dream mixed with a memoir and sometimes read like a strange owners manual. in some ways it feels like it's tying together the world's created by VanderMeer.

felt like this story was just was way to take jabs at "liberals" and Democrats and not even in a funny or educated way. i think the author must be a morning drive time disc jockey on the side. I was surprised he didn't make any Monica Lewinsky jokes.
