ignore the bad reviews, legit a great resource

I already wrote a review, but after reading some of the negative ones I thought it necessary to expand on my comments even further. I genuinely believe this is one of the best singular resources available for learning russian. I have been learning seriously for over a year. I started off using duolingo 5 hours daily, which helped with very rudinentary vocab, but barely helped with dynamic listening (even if I knew all the words in a sentence, I wouldnt be able to "hear them" at normal speed). To increase my ability to hear words I know, I listen to 12 hour "learn russian in your sleep" youtube videos that help with picking up phrases and training my ear. I also practice speaking with natives on the regular. This resource is the most efficient way to pick up vocab. There are the 2000 specific words, along with anywhere between 1000 and 5000 additional unique words used in the sentences. If you ACTUALLY, want to learn russian to the same degree as you know English, this audiobook is irreplaceable. Yes, you will need to relisten to it multiple times. I listen to 6 chapters in n a row, then go back through all 6 until I know most of the words/ translations before the english is said. I probably wouldn't start with the audiobook if I know nothing about Russian, but it's the perfect way to go from lower-intermediate to upper-intermediate without being stranded in siberia for 10 years.
