Historia
Dan’s first tournament may have ended, but life goes on. His luck is still with him in his regular life as well, and it seems to be endless. However, he is surrounded by very smart people, and surely one of them is going to start doubting his talents, at least a bit? Especially now, with a new game about to start. The latest foes are even more dangerous than the last and the rules are still unfamiliar to him. Dan wonders how reasonable the rules are in the first place. Is it really possible to take a competition that lasts a couple of hours at most seriously?

An ending that brings hope to all men
Revisado: 10-29-21
For some reason the “Code Hero” books leave me somewhat confused. However despite this I find the books very pleasing. The multiple perspective story-lines, from the various characters, is an excellent way of telling multiple stories in one book; each of which could actually stand on their own. Albeit in the form of novellas. However this book stands out from the first one with its ending. It really made me feel that there could be hope that somewhere out there, there is a woman that would feel joy in discovering who I really am and in so doing, be willing to run and smile and look forward to see what the future holds, with me.

Narrator leaves a lot to be desired
Revisado: 10-12-21
As usual Micheal Chatfield excels in his story telling. Unfortunately the new narrator sucks. You can easily tell that he’s reading as he’s going along. There isn’t any natural flow to his speak patterns. Listen to “The Cycle of Arawn” or Pandora’s Star or the original narrator from the first book in this series and then try to listen to this author and you’ll understand. There just isn’t any soul in this guys narration. Everything is spaced apart evenly with no speeding up at an exciting part or long dramatic pauses when there should be introspection. I’m going to go out and buy a printed copy of the book and read it myself. I just can’t retain what is going on and have to keep going back and re-listening to parts over and over again. Not an enjoyable experience at all.

Left me wanting more in series
Revisado: 01-31-21
One of my favorite aspects of Fantasy LitRPG is the character and kingdom buildup. This author managed to get it right. Not too fast (for a book) and not too slow. The narrators also manage to do an excellent job: not only with the different voices, but also with the emotions portrayed. I found myself grinning at some points and having tear-filled eyes and a runny nose at other points and wishing with all my heart that I could jump in there and assist in their struggles.
Yes there were some mistakes made by the main character, but they were not the typical stupid mistakes that other authors used in their books, to try and make the characters more believable. I would have probably made the same mistakes myself.
I got so engrossed in the book, when not working or driving, that I fell asleep while listening. Not because it was boring, but because the by-play was so well performed, that it was like a movie playing behind my eyelids.
I look forward to the second book so I can re-listen to this again and just follow through on to the next chapters.
As a footnote: I highly recommend listening to the Greystone Chronicles by the same author, as this book takes place in the same world (at a later time) and there is some funny character cross-over scenes. Not necessary to enjoy the book, but its an added bonus for a few chuckles and grins.

Badgelor has been patient, or at least as patient as a homicidal badger can be. With the celebration of Grebthar Day, it's finally time to go get Charles! Nothing is going to stop Jim and his companions, not even the signs of the Dark Overlord's return. This adventure could be Windfall's greatest yet, or it could be its absolute downfall.

Revisado: 12-05-20
After a rollercoaster ride of adventure and emotions I find myself very emotionally satisfied and wishing I was right there beside Jim, to assist him in kicking some butt. I fervently hope the author either continues the series or starts a new series dealing with Jim’s new adventures; as he ended this book at a perfect point to do both or either.

Historia
Sandra had been a merchant traveling through the human lands of Muriel, though that wouldn’t have been her chosen profession. What she would’ve loved to become was a crafter, producing wondrous creations with her own two hands. Unfortunately, Sandra was born with a deformity in her hands that made them appear frozen in a claw-like pose; as a result, she couldn’t grip anything with any sort of strength or dexterity, meaning that she wasn’t able craft anything but the most simple of things that required very little in the way of hand-based manipulation.

LOVED it!
Revisado: 01-23-20
One of the things that I reading get into is the crafting and building of skills and techniques that are portrayed in the litrpg genres. This book is now near the top of my re-reading list, along with “The Two Week Curse” and “The Trapped Mind Project”. I have been planning on writing a “Dungeon Crafting” style book and my ideas that I’ve written down so far are nothing like what is presented in this book. When I finally get down to writing about the world that is constantly encroaching upon my reality I will use this book as a reference to keep my “humanity” on course and keep the darkness at arms length. I wish this Dungeon really existed, so I could visit and share all my real-life crafting knowledge with her. I would definitely want to move in and help her. It’s really a shame there isn’t a “crafting community” available in this world. It would truly be exhilarating to do what we love, constantly, while helping others.
Oh, BTW. Louise Cooksey; You Rock! Superbly done. Looking forward to the second book.

Sound is too tinny and off
Revisado: 05-21-19
The sound was just too off. I couldn’t get into the book. Audio is tinny and narrator is too slow. If you speed it up to 1.25x speed then it’s slightly too fast and not natural sounding. And there is always an echo like he’s reading the book in a metallic vault of some sort. If I wanted to bother to take the time and send the files through a modulator and convert it; it would probably be OK, but I don’t have the time for that. I returned the book. I never got past chapter 1 so gave a really low rating on the story.

Finally it's arrived!
Revisado: 01-19-18
If you could sum up Shaman's Revenge in three words, what would they be?
After waiting what seemed like forever the next installment finally arrived. It didn't disappoint. There were enough twists and turns to keep me going full throttle. The only thing I didn't like was that it was too short. Of course that is always the way with a good book. The ending is very satifying and I could see the series actually ending here, but there are more books in the series, so I am curious as to what is to come.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Shaman's Revenge?
If I told you the most memorable moment it would ruin the surprise.
What about Jonathan Yen’s performance did you like?
Jonathan Yen's performance was even better than the last book. Here is one more narrator that is a shining example of what a truly great narrator should be like.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Lack of skill may kill you!

The goblin invasion is on...and a wizard's work is never done! After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe, and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the Western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

I cried and I laughed...
Revisado: 05-30-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book carefully to others. If they have lost someone close to them and have had a hard time dealing with it, then this may not be the best of choices. There are some small parts that deal with great depression and a glancing blow at suicide, which I found tearful, having had to deal with that with friends and family. However the overall story line buoys an underlining emotion of hope and the struggles of the main character, who valiantly pushes onward, makes every triumph yours also. I greatly enjoyed this and wholeheartedly wish that Audible had more than just the first of the five books available.
